So far our daughter has only been on holidays to Thailand, but for those of you with kids who have raised them in Thailand, what are the pros versus cons or the good and bad compared to how life would have been back in your home country? hippity, has your daughter Thai Citizenship, or eligible for Thai Citizenship? I know this is an older thread, but I want to get away form the Pub and see what else is in the Forum.

^^ Thanks.
My feeling is that, as your Daughter is both Thai and Western, she should have had a taste of both worlds. Certainly encourage being bi-lingual, though easier done when young, then older.
It gives children the opportunity and option if, when they are adults, to live in either culture and find the place that suits them best for the stage of life they are in.
That may involve some schooling in Thailand and, while in the younger grades, my feeling is that the government Thai School is fine, as long as the 'attitude' to learning and the ability 'to question' rather then just accept, is encouraged at home.
From ages 12/13 up, when school goes from 'schooling' to be an 'education' then I feel the West is best ... unless you have the coin to stump up for a Private School in Thailand. I don't.
All well intentioned advice is IMHO
Best of luck.
