Just watched 'Good Kill' a story of a USAF pilot with 6000 hours F-16 flight experience, reduced to flying drones that fire Hellfire Missiles, from a base in Arizona full of IBC's on wheels, acting on command from his superiors. Here's the trailer. That's called "progress" although I doubt the pilots will think so

Also just bought all 3 "Hobbit" movies as they're now out in a box set. I saw the first 2 but not the third yet. If one overlooks the historical inaccuracies within the movies they are quite good I don't want to be a pedant (I was just born like this) is it possible to have historical inaccuracies in a work of fiction? I've just been lent the entire set of Dexter by a friend, he raves about it, is it worth watching?

Good people, interesting past but I fear for the future.

The Battle of Pelenor in year 3019 of the Third Age was also a sight to behold.

Dexter is worth watching thousands of times over. No scifi, no vampires, no living in places where monsters are.
Just good down to earth story about normal people. I loved Dexter, in my own odd way. Apart from the last ever episode. But you have about 40 or more before then. Enjoy.

Been watching some episodes of the Baantjer "Inspecteur de Cock" television series. An old police inspector with young sidekick with their police office in the midst of the 'red light' district in Amsterdam. At least once per episode they walk past to go to their favorite pub also located there.
Nothing really spectacular, but for a Dutch chap it makes a difference what with all the English and especially American series. Mind you, I always like "Colombo".

I am enjoying what to my mind is a classic series from the U.K. 'Foyles War.''
It is indeed an interesting mix of wartime drama and policing techniques, with a strong cast of characters and also cameo appearances of some of those old T.V. stars from some 40 years ago..

Just downloaded and have stared to watch in black and white ''Z Cars.'' I can recall watching the series when a young lad as was Brian Blessed in those days. A young Arthur Lowe plays a cheap petty thief in one episode of the series with a wonderful accent and hair too.

The biggest problem with trying to watch a DVD on a PC, is that the computer is very unforgiving, the slightest bit of unreadable data and it just hangs, after two hours of stop start restart start stop again, I had still only seen the first half of Dexter S01E12. But I was hooked, so I'm downloading the whole thing, series one through eight, there aren't that many seeders though, so it could take a while, about another 12 hours. And Pats, monsters come in many forms

I came across a two part Ozzie detective crime thingy called Catching Milat the other night. About a guy who killed lots of backpackers back in the day when it seemed to be safe to hitchhike. Well, you Ozzies probably know the story. I didn't.
I watched the first part and fell asleep during the second which i shall watch later. Well made and based on a real story. I found it on Pirate Bay.
Note to anyone - do not set your laptop on the bed and get all cozy. You SHALL fall asleep. And in this case listening to the dulcet tones of Australians. And it went on a loop so i woke up where i left off six hours later still listening to Aussie talk. Which, i must admit, i prefer to Kiwi.
Thaddy, i do know that monsters exist in all shapes and forms. Or so i was told by my oh so loving big sis and bro when i was a small child...
Snakes, rats, great big spiders all lived under my bed. Oh did they laugh!!!
