Stolen on Monday, retrieved with foreigners on Tuesday. What were they thinking? "Foreigners filmed stealing large wooden elephant on Samui SURAT THANI - Two foreign men caught on camera stealing a large carved wooden elephant from outside a restaurant on Koh Samui in the early hours of Monday were reportedly arrested on nearby Koh Phangan... ... I love CCTV cameras, should be more of them. Certainly got a lot of dumb crims banged up over the years.  |

Stupid me, I have only just realised what CCTV stands for.
Until now everytime that I have seen refeence to CCTV I always thought it stood for "Crazy Chef's Tasty Veal'.

Very true, they are getting crucified on the dark side but in reality this is just a drinking prank.. They had no plan to take the wooden elephant home with them, that would be ridiculous, this was just a few guys having a laugh which didn't end as they planned. They were drinking, ending as planned is not a thing that you think of at these times. Universities/Colleges worldwide have these kind of pranks happening on a weekly basis and the majority of the time these pranks are brushed off as 'high spirits'. TBH, if they run a collection to help bail these guys out I would contribute. Anyone know if anything has been set up? |

Years ago in Chiang Rai there was a bar in Jet Yod, just down from the hideous clocktower, called the Elephant Bar. Out front, believe it or not, were two huge wooden elephants, one on either side of the front entrance. This Pommy guy was having it off with the lady who owned the place and one night he got p**sed up and they had a fight. When he was leaving he got into a wrestling match with one of the elephants and somehow knocked it over and it rolled down the footpath and cleaned up some bikes that were parked out front causing some damage. Cops were called to sort it out, meanwhile drunk Pom is struggling to get this big wooden thing back into place, bloody hilarious ! |
