But the cost per journey will increase to 80/100 baht, which is what it is now for many in the centre of CM anyway. So presumably the new official fare will become 80 or 100 whilst the unofficial fare will become what, 150 or so I suppose. I guess it's too old fashioned to think there might have been some cost savings to the consumer in all of this, wot cynical, moi!

Does the "new red songtaew overhaul" include teaching them some manners on the road, and that they in fact don't own the bloody streets ? Don't like the idea of electric powered tuk-tuks, at least you can hear them coming now. First time I went to China in 2006 I lost count how many times I almost got cleaned up crossing the road by an electric scooter, you cannot hear the bloody things and they go like mad. Maybe I am just whining like a bitch now.
