We had a squirrel trying to get into our kitchen the other morning, fly screen was the only thing that stopped him. He could probably smell the fruit on the kitchen table. Yesterday morning I watched a squirrel outside my kitchen window eating a jinjok, starting with the tail. When it got to the head it struggled a bit, but finally managed to eat it. Oh how different from Squirrel Nutkin or, for that matter, Secret Squirrel. I'm sure all they ever ate was nuts.

I was driving past a Wat with my son when he gasped out ~ look dad there's an animal in that tree ~ I kept driving and inquiried of what kind ~ he had forgot what it was called ~ so I asked what did it look like and he said ~ it was small and hairy and was looking at him and it was eating donuts ~ I nearly crashed the motor. |

It sounds like your son saw the old, fat dude who lives near our local Wat. I like the squirrels here, they remind me of the little sugar gliders we had back in the colony. Sometimes when I am walking on our soi doing my exercising I look down and see the shadows of the power lines on the road, and the shadows of the squirrels running along them like little circus performers.  |
