Indonesian police are searching for four foreigners who escaped from Bali's Kerokoban Prison using a tunnel. The prisoners were identified as Australian Shaun Edward Davidson, Bulgarian Dimitar Nikolov, Indian Sayed Muhammad and Malaysian Tee Kok King. Prison governor Tony Nainggolan said he believed the men were still on the resort island. Prisons in Indonesia are dealing with an influx of people arrested for drug offences, and breakouts are common. The Asian guy might stand a chance on the run cause they all look the same but the Aussie guy he's a stand out. Usually tall with good looks. Being Aussie it shouldn't be too difficult to outsmart Bali police though. |

I think anyone dumb enough to escape prison when only serving a short sentence won't last long.
Perhaps he is just a daring thrill seeker, or he has no idea how time works, or he is just plain silly.

Latest developments indicate they may have drowned inside the tunnel. Not only was his sentence just a year (passport fraud), he'd already served 9.5 months of it. There were also reports that he lived a pretty good life there Kerobokon Prison. Foreigners held there who get financial support from the outside have a decent quality of life. Drugs are available, etc. He may have broken out just to extend his sentence; he was facing significant drug charges back in Oz. It'd be ironic if they'd drowned. |
