Green curries, Mattsaman, Penang curries, yeah right. How about eating what the locals eat. HiSo or LoSo? Gotta love the hello Kitty ice bucket.

If you ever pop down to Pattaya, this place looks like a must try, the address is on the more info bit
1. Wild boar with pineapple stems (ผัดหมูป่าจุกสัปประรด) - An amazing Thai dish, made with curry paste wild boar, and slices of pineapple stems. 2. Pork curry with coconut shell (แกงหมูกะลา) - My first time to eat coconut shell in Thailand. It had a crunch like a carrot, stir fried with curry paste. 3. Wild boar with snakefruit (หมูป่าพล่าระกำ) - This is a type of pla, which in Thai is a mix or type of salad made with wild boar and salak fruit, or snakefruit. 4. Squid ink with garcinia leaves (หมึกต้มใบชะมวง) - The squid was nice and tender and the soup with sour and sweet. 5. Old style fried fish cakes (ทอดมันโบราณ) - These Thai fried fish cakes were made with all fish and curry paste. 6. Catfish salt curry (แกงเกลือปลาดุก) - This is one of their speciality dishes at Loong Riang & Pamalee (ร้านลุงเรียง & ป้ามาลี), and it was packed with flavor. 7. Best omelet in the world (ไข่เจียวอร่อยที่สุดในโลก) - In all fun, it’s really called the best omelet in the world, and it was pretty life-changing. 8. Free range chicken boiled with snakefruit (ไก่บ้านต้มระกำ) - This soup was so sour, you’ll feel it in your bones! Again, this Thai jungle food recipe was made with snakefruit. 9. Catfish fried with fresh chilies (ปลาดุกผัดพริกสด) - The catfish was deep fried, and stir fried with lots of chilies and garlic. 10.Fried chicken with salt (ไก่คั่วเกลือ) - This fried chicken was boney, but unbelievable in flavor. 11. Pork ribs with yellow nightshade (หมูใบพายผัดมะเขือเหลือง) - Another classic jungle Thai food dish, with ribs and slices of yellow nightshade. 12.Jungle bird with holy basil (กระเพรานกป่า) - Final dish we ate was a type of Thai minced pheasant stir fried with wild holy basil.

Don't quite know where you are rgs but, i think you are well enough acquainted with the area from what i gather from your posts. On nut 44 take a left as if you are coming down from Srinakarin towards Sukhumvit. about 1/2 of a mile down you hit Suk 93 on the right and few hundred yards back a packed out little Esaan joint of a night, every night. That's for another time though. Anyway if you head straight on eventually you come to a bend in the road that bares right and about 100 yards up on the right hand side before you hit another bend left that takes you on to 101 Udom suk is a great place to stop off. Mainly packed out mid morning till about 3 p.m. they sell mostly Southern Thai food. Made on sight with a kind of homemade touch, if you know what i mean. 4 or 5 dishes, 2 cups of rice and maybe a couple of light refreshments should n't cost you any more than say 200 - 250 Baht.

The two Thai places on 30 opposite the really good burger place with the obnoxious owner are good....the one on the right has quite fatty meat however.
Good though.
The place on the corner however is the diamond....its a shithole outside where I hide from er indoors and guzzle beer in the late afternoon.
The food in the aircon section is fabulous.

I tell not a lie, i no not of the establishment you are talking of. Was thinking about trotting down the road to the Londoner tomorrow afternoon to see if i could catch the Lions vs the all Blacks 1st. Looks like a bit of a weird place to be though now that it's finally up and running. Plus the reviews i have read ain't exactly great.

If its the same soi as I think, I know exactly where you are. Reason it stands out in the memory, its one of the few areas in Bkk I know of that has a roundabout. There also used to be a large sign written in English, something to do with Friendship Village or roundabout built by the Americans about 50 years ago. One of the few areas where you can still see sheep and goats wandering on the streets. Havent been up that way in a few years, its changed beyond all recognition, there used to be waste ground there, the mrs loved going to Likay concerts, I was playing bingo with the locals. Also used to have heaps of entertainment places, probably all gone. I used to go that way to take a shortcut to Seacon or Paradise. If you know that area, is Kings Park Avenue still there?

I know of a kinda roundabout on On Nut 46 and the Kings avenue hotel is situated on the opposite side of the rd to Seacon and Paradise on Srinakarin. btw, that other London town village just before On Nut 39 has a pub. Do you think the riff raff from north of the border could be persuaded to hang out there ? Instead of lowering the tone around Phattanakan. Also the traffic round my way is ridiculous since some government bright spark put in a 2 year plan to build a unwanted underpass.
