Just briefly, on the subject of Africa. Has any members climbed Kili, or Nyiragongo, or the pyramids, or crossed the Sahara or whatever? Asking for a friend. No. Who cares? Interesting question. It would seem both oldie's friend as well as oldie himself cares. At least that what I understand with my obviously limited knowledge of this quaint language called English  |

The original link was the racist bile of it's time. In saying that, any notion that the white man brought evil to Africa is beyond delusional. Belgium was the perpetrator of unspeakable evil on that continent. Personally I thought The Blacks and the Arabs had beat the White Man to it years before. And here I was just about to post a link to the latest mass sexual assault and severe sustained attack on responding police in Germany by the usual suspects, but I see the Big Mango forum has PC police on patrol so I will not bother. |

Ok from now on I will stick to posting silly you-tube clips. I love travel stories oldie, sounds like you and our friend "me" in CR have seen a lot of the world, as have a lot of the other members. (Blether has been to so many places he spends all his spare time renewing passports) Have found when talking to groups of fellow travellers nearly every one have them have been somewhere the other haven't. My favourite pastime when I was backpacking around SE Asia was to find a nice little bar, preferably with seating on the footpath, and swap stories with other travellers. The "Eden Bar" in De Tham in Saigon brings back good memories. Perhaps we should starting using the "International Travel" thread, it's in the Travel section. Nobody has posted on it since Feb last year ! |
