Wife said yesterday he misunderstood what the medical bill would be, and wanted to be flown home. I just said never heard of him.

So this story starts out with the usual sensationalist misreporting by the tabloids followed by an army of angry farang Thai bashers telling us what a rip off Thailand is for medical treatment, 13k Pounds per night in the hospital plus 90k Pounds for an op, goodness me! Then somebody with a brain points out that the article should be Baht not Pounds but the story continues to run - Bangkok Post is then forced to print a corrected front page story pointing out the obvious. What a sad world we live in sometimes.

But surely a famous, responsible actor such as he would have adequate medical insurance like the rest of us, should we decide to fall off a water fall and therefore the medical bill in this case would be irrelevant ? Too simple ? |

But surely a famous, responsible actor such as he would have adequate medical insurance like the rest of us, should we decide to fall off a water fall and therefore the medical bill in this case would be irrelevant ? Too simple ? I made an unscheduled trip to the Bangkok Samui hospital one afternoon and the bill came to 9000 Baht. Had to cough up the cash and reclaim from my insurer. All quite painless. |

Seems as if there was a need to surgically free the tendons in smokie's hand so as he could remove his wallet from his back pocket without experiencing excruciating pain that accompanied such an act earlier in the week.  |

Naaaaah I just went in to borrow their phone to call blether so he could fly down and settle my bar tab.
Also they have a free water fountain.
Those guys are a nightmare though....grabbed my passport and demanded cash or bash.
Far worse than Bummyregrad.
