U.S. flies bombers over Korean peninsula after North Korea missile test SEOUL/NEW YORK (Reuters) - The United States flew two supersonic B-1B bombers over the Korean peninsula in a show of force on Sunday and the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said China, Japan and South Korea needed to do more after Pyongyang's latest missile tests. North Korea said it conducted another successful test of an intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) on Friday that proved its ability to strike America's mainland, drawing a sharp warning from U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump's ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Twitter on Sunday that the United States was "done talking" about North Korea, which was "not only a U.S. problem." www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-missiles-idUSKBN1AF02K

I don't think that the USA could afford another Vietnam at this moment, especially one where nukes may or may not be involved.
I was going to vote for stocking up on Kim Chi but then I thought 'what if this Kim Chi fellow is a worse dictator than the chubby poisoned dwarf who is in charge at the moment'.

Who will be left to clean up the mess they leave behind? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia. Go and ask the poor people of Laos who are still living with the results of Uncle Sams last bombing campaign of 40 years ago.

There's no limit to the stupidity of people. Furthermore Trump might need a good war to distract from problems at home. Of course that would only work if he can limit actions to 'bombing only'. The moment American Forces in numbers are involved he's stuck.
Mind you, the 'bombing only' with nice real time incinerated Koreans, crying kids and so might be a bit too much of a reality show for lots of people.

Definite - not a chance the USA will allow this clown to have nukes capable of taking out American cities.
Also, not a chance this will be another Vietnam. Seven day war, maximum.

US presidents have been kicking this can down the road for years. It wouldn't amaze me for Trump to do the same thing, leaving it to the next President. The first time NK sends a missile anywhere near Hawaii - ir's war. Are they that stupid? I have my doubts. I reckon they'll stick to local testing, being irritating, but not doing anything so stupid that international opinion would side with a US attack.

The US won't do anything until a missile lands in the Pacific....then its game on and will be a full declaration of war unilaterally by the US. They won't care about China either in obliterating the NK regime. It does need to happen unfortunately if for none other than the NK people.

It just happens that the current president of the USA is Donald Trump. He's known to be a big, real big sensitive man. As for war, well the Trump Administration just warned Venezuela it's moving to a dictatorship after a sham election, Trump praised president Erdoğan of Turkey, Duterte of the Phillipines, admires president Putin, so why all this noise about lill' Kim ?

Interesting to note that China from April on has made some serious changes to its N K border forces.Word has it that the Chinese are concerned about the possibility of being flooded with N K refugee's should the balloon go up.
Other sources seem to think that fat boy is being given gentle warning that if he carries on much longer granddad China is going to smack his bum.
In my view China is the biggest threat to N K .

Could be. I think China would also rather avoid having lots of American or UN troops in Korea again. Face may be involved, but China is good at saving face by changing the rules to project anything as a clear Chinese win

Therein lies the crux of the matter. The Chinese do not want the Americans peering over the N K neighbours fence into their back yard. What does interest the Chinese is the expansion of their access to the oceans in the region and of course the sea lanes in pursuit of trade, but of far greater interest and strategic importance is the ability to expand Chinese naval power too. Let us not forget the Chinese initiative in expanding the railway systems, highways and to a lesser degree the river usage systems in a wonderful attempt to upgrade land based transport systems,( read rapid military ground movement systems.) The Chinese have taken note of Hitlers Autobahn system and why it was built not so much to encourage civilian tourism but military tourism. North Korea could well be the next Tibet scenario replay. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2014/11/chinas-dangerous-game/380789/

You band the Trump haters won't be happy until he has declared war on someone. Which is pitiful.

Not a chance - not a chance in hell, that China will send a single troop to face off against the Americans. The Communist Party of China cannot risk defeat.

I've posted before, it's estimated it woukd take four days to wipe out NK's conventional weapons.
If they release a nuke, forty minutes - and that include the time it would take the Pentagon to get off the floor after p**sin themselves laughing.
Call this pricks bluff, and China too.
