AT LEAST seven Muslim insurgents were slaughtered in Myanmar after they launched a coordinated attack on an army base (1) An insurgent is someone who fights against the government of their own country. The Rohingya are from Pakistani, so are not "insurgents". (2) Slaughter is "the killing of many people cruelly and unfairly". I doubt the killing was particularly cruel, and it most certainly wasn't unfair: it's the Moslems that were doing the attacking. The army was simply defending itself.

I'll wait to see how the BBC covers this attack against the muslims, or it will be after they've re written it.

The Rohingya are from Pakistan, so are not "insurgents". Not sure what came over me. They are (of course) Bangladeshi, not Pakistani. Anyway, it appears the Bangladeshis simultaneously attacked 24 locations, police stations and security posts. 32 people dead. Unfortunately, not all of them Rohingya. If these people want to be accepted in Myanmar, they've got a very funny way of going about it. www.bangkokpost.com/news/asean/1312899/32-dead-in-rakhine-attack

Burma needs to up its game and learn the newspeak lingo of their Chinese masters. They are dealing with drug dealers, they are commies (Uncle Sam will pour millions of $$$$ on them, same same Philipines and Indonesia). UN official says, ah that bastion of toothless tigers, nothing more than a talking shop and a trough for failed politicians to get their snouts into. Banglas, , even their Muslim Pakistani brothers wanted nothing to do with them. Hows the Banglas record on human rights doing?

The retaliation has started, and some are trying to return to Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi army are trying to stop them.

So, current Myanmar leader Ang Su Kyi received the Nobel Peace Price in 1991 ? "Myanmar: Aung San Suu Kyi says no 'ethnic cleansing' of Muslims Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi has denied that ethnic cleansing has taken place against the country's Rohingya Muslim ethnic minority. Speaking to the BBC, Suu Kyi said " ethnic cleansing is too strong an expression to use for what's happening" in northern Rakhine State." edition.cnn.com/2017/04/06/asia/myanmar-aung-san-suu-kyi/index.html

Whilst there are undoubtedly parts of Burmese society that would be happy with ethnic cleaning, it hasn't taken place; there's been no mass expulsion, or mass killing of Rohingya. So The Lady is correct. What is happening and has happened in Burma is in no way comparable with genuine ethnic cleansings, such as the Armenian Genocide, the Balkan Wars, the Holodomor, Idi Amin's expulsion of Asians from Uganda, LTTE's forcible expulsion of the entire Moslem population from northern Sri Lanka, &c., &c..

I'm sure the Rohingyas will be happy to hear this.
