Just back from BigC, but I don't think either of those are stocked there.

We have a remarkably good French bakery here in Chiang Mai, they went from selling bread from a stall in the jungle to five retail outlets. PM me an address and I'll treat you. Oh yes, don't read anything into it but the name of the bakery is called Nana Bakery....no relation I can assure you. www.nana-bakery-chiang-mai.com/

I was planning a tour of villa, tops and Foodland today, but it came on to rain so I scrapped it. Your offer is very kind but I could not put you to the trouble. It's only Edam after all, I did spot Red Leicester the other day. And where's Oom Rubes today, this is rather concerning. Hope he didn't overdo it yesterday. I am currently filled with trepidation. A notorious pysse artist from the Nakhon who has been away for three years returns tomorrow and I am meeting him for a drink in Soi 4. Very good lad, just has an endless capacity for alcohol and I know when I get the taste I am not keen to stop. He's only in Bangkok for the one night so I'll bite the bullet. I'm only half filled with trepidation to be honest.

You keep forgetting I still have a regular, paid-for, fulltime job. The job description which I wrote myself a while back, doesn't include Trink-like reports on watering holes or water level in wells. Our dear Rott seems to be doing fine without my advise but I must admit I don' give a hoot!

Bernard Rubes, it has a certain ring to it. Drink is Trink in German. Rubes Trink could be interpreted as command. Now please excuse, I need to get something to trink.

You seem to be familiar with Soi Cowboy anyway, not a claim I can make. Trink mentioned a no. 23 in one place who did half price barfines midweek, does that still apply.? Asking for a friend who is due back here soon.

I wouldn't know anything about those things, what's a bar fine? Probably rott's spellchecker at it again. Mostly likely it should have been 'a fine bar'.

But my prime candidate was a fine payable to the bar for not drinking enough, 3 large Changs per hour or similar. Designed to keep out the riff raff, those types that just sit there and eat the free nuts.....you know who you are.

I must admit that I might not have paid sufficient attention to the types of trinks available and in what quantity vessels. As such I don't think I ever saw large Changs, Singhas or Klosters in SoiC. On this family friendly forum I will not describe what I did see of course (PM for details)

Did you know ... ... an estimated 23.2 million Americans believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Entirely believable, I'm shocked the number is so low. As follow up ...

In 1972 I was working a part-time job in a gas station on East Warren in Detroit when a customer asked, hey, where you from? I said England, London in fact, (I knew if I said any other place in the country he wouldn't know the name). Hey, he said, I have a buddy lives in London, you might know him, Ron, Ron Jones? Ron? Sure I know Ron, great guy, one in a million. Wow says he, how's he doing? Oh he's cool, will that be regular or unleaded I asked, check the oil? He paid, and drove off, it was at that point that I knew that the US was going to be a lot of fun.
Later in San Diego an American asked me, where you from, New England? No said I, Old England (I'd become a smart arse by then). Hey (they all say hey all the time), you wanna job? Doing what I asked? selling real estate in Santa <Bunny boiler>, all the rich old broads will love your accent. Nah I said, I'm more of a 389 with a four barrel kind a guy. I'll pay you twice what you make now, he said. Nah, still not interested. Three times, he said? Nope said I....later I realised that was one nig missed opportunity, c'est la vie.
