I spent yesterday reading that thread as I lazed by the pool in Bang Saen and the dek serf was bringing me mojitos. The best thing she can do is head to Home Pro in Korat, they have a design section there, and will supply the materials and workforce, she will be ripped off of course, buts thats one of the downsides of living in the boonies and lack of Thai language skills.

Never ceases to amaze me why farangs want farang style houses in the tropics, even the Thais know how the weather, heat and humidty works, hence Petchabun, Chiang Mai style wooden houses, head elsewhere in the tropics, Balinese style houses.
Alterantive, get a/c in and pay 6,000 baht per month for your leccy bill.

You're right of course but nevertheless, I have some sympathies for her predicament, mostly because she is such a delightful and helpful person. Tha thread also made me realise a few things; the first is that I take where I live for granted, everything I need is at my fingertips; the other thing is how much TVF has changed, the volume of posts is way way down, it feels like hardly anyone is posting there any longer other than some newbies and a few die hards.

The dreadfully slow loading times and endless advertising have caught up with them.
That and banning half of their posters....not the smartest move that.

Well couple those facts up to delightful ongoing saga of dismal failures of I T updates done I presume by a local passing digital tramp as opposed to a highers status digital pikey it proves yet again the site is indeed a cyber world basket case. Yesterday you could sign in but you couldn't sign out, mind you though perhaps that was a deliberate mistake to show a fantastic volume of users and members being on line. Shitty Shifty gits the mods and the admin in the other place, all crapping in the same bed together.

Thanks, that explains things, thought it was just a bunch of wifi thieves slowing down my connection. Good job I was wearing sunglasses, the screen on the ipad. lit up like a Christmas tree.

I have just reread that thread again, its looks like the roof was a bodge job. My best advice, rip the bloody lot off and for a cheap fix up, instal an angled flat roof. Or for a proper job, rip the lot off and install a proper roof, if she is lucky she might have change left out of 400,000 baht. Sorry for being so blunt.

It's far from good, everything would be OK were it not for the new addition and its jury rigged roof which complicates matters hugely, Agreed, the best way forward is to re-roof completely, including the steel.

19 pages on how to fix a roof and still going strong. My bum gun has developed a small leak at the outlet flange. Any suggestions?
