A detailed and highly credible report has completely exonerated the Tatmadaw (Myanmar army) of any abuses of Rohingyas. They never: - shot at "innocent villagers" - committed any "sexual violence and rape cases against women" - "arrested, beat (or) killed villagers" - stole silverware, gold, vehicles or animals from villagers - set fire to a mosque - "threatened, bullied and drove out the villagers" - set houses alight. Clearly it's all been perfidious Moslems spreading calumnies about the army, and the real cause of all the problems has been Islamic terrorists. Report hereOh, should I have mentioned that the report was prepared by the army themselves?

My main concern, living here in Yangon, is what is the over/under on how long before the conflict comes to the biggest city. What I mean is that Myanmar (I'd estimate 85% of the population here believes the Rohingya don't deserve rights, aren't citizens and should be driven back to where they came from 100 years ago) has set itself up to be a target of international Islamist terrorism. There's going to be a backlash, millions want revenge, and since the Rohingya don't have the resources to do it themselves...
Look what happened in Bangkok just for deporting some Uighurs...
ISIS might be planning to blow up someplace soft, say a shopping mall which also happens to house a language school that employs 20 or so farang. It's going to happen; it's just a matter of when.
I don't know what's happening in Rakhine. It really doesn't matter WHAT the truth is because the rest of the world thinks its genocide. That's the important thing. And when that bomb blows up somewhere in Yangon, the locals descend upon the Moslem neighborhoods and there'll be a pogrom.
