The missus showed me a video doing the rounds of a young Thai kid who lit a fire cracker and held onto it until it blew half his hand off. Of course the kid screamed his lungs off whilst the gathering crowd filmed him on the phones. Totally useless. Typical Thailand isnt it. They were probably uploading it to some worthless faceache page accompanied by such phrases as, น่ารัก.

Many years ago the Dutch government sponsored some clips and posters to warn about fireworks. Fed up with the usual accidents with the approach of NewYear they decided to be a wee bit more direct that year. I remember one which more-or-less said "So what you lost some fingers? You never could count to ten anyway". Don't remember if it helped or not. Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't matter at all, but that was another one "So what, you never read anyway"

That's called being inquisitive I think. My mother sometimes regales stories from when I was a innocent youngster. There's an episode where I seem to have used nails to check on electricity and the statistical chance of hitting the 'right' live wire rather than the other one. My mother was also hesitant to take me shopping as one time an agitated shopgirl asked her 'can you stop your kid from touching everything?' Or stepping in my grandmother's house and the ketchup literally hitting the ceiling within a minute. I'm afraid in some ways I never changed, still the wondering type
