Zimbabwean family stranded in Bangkok airport for months No-one really enjoys a long airport stopover, but for one Zimbabwean family, Bangkok's main airport has been home for nearly three months. According to the Thai immigration bureau, the four children under 11 and four adults arrived in Bangkok in May, but are refusing to return to Zimbabwe for fear of persecution. Their plight came to light after someone who said he worked at Suvarnabhumi airport posted a photo on Facebook showing himself giving a little African girl a Christmas present. In the now deleted post, Kanaruj Artt Pornsopit said the family had been living in the airport for nearly three months "because of the unsettled situation" in their country. "Hope all of you back to your sweet home soon", he said. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-42499739

Having read the information from other sources my opinion is that these people are trying to buck the system and it has backfired. Given the Thai attitude to ''refugee's'' they have little if any chance of staying here in Thailand.
Money does not appear to be in short supply so why the deviant course(s) of action ?
Total crap from start to now, an elaborate fraud due I suspect to a somewhat blemished background that necessitated a rapid departure from Zimbabwe.
Possibly their current''residential status'' is being assisted by generous applications of ''palm oil'' in the appropriate lubrication ports and grease nipples within the local machinery within the civil service power train .

My first thought was where's the showers in Swampy?
Or doesn't it matter much if you're black?

Arrivals I think, they tried to fly to Dubai(?), but were turned back. Then denied entry as they previously overstayed on tourist visas. As Zimbabwe has been stabilised, they should go home.

As Zimbabwe has been stabilised, they should go home. Ah but me thinks your missing the point, as with many its nothing to do with political stability in their own country but more of a case of getting into a country which has a generous and soft touch welfare system they can tap into.... Zimbabwe AKA Uncle Bob and his cohorts spent many years blaming the whites, colonialism and capitalism for all the problems in Africa, but was quick to jump on a private plane, built in a capitalist pig country to seek medical treatment in previously oppresive colonial country and treated by the whitey doctors he hated so much... SAMUT PRAKAN — Thai immigration authorities said Thursday they would move a Zimbabwean family stuck for months at Suvarnabhumi International Airport to a detention center in downtown Bangkok. Two days after an airport employee brought attention to the plight of the eight-member family, a deputy immigration police chief said the family would be moved to the Immigration Detention Center in Bangkok’s Suan Phlu area, a facility where refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented immigrants and their families are held for years at a time. www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2017/12/28/zimbabwe-family-bkk-put-detention-center/
