^^^ wrong time of day, head out at night, myself and another fine poster on here had posts deleted on another forum for showing pics of Rio and the lads on the p**s, picking up $1000 a day wages on Sub Sea 7.
One post I remember had a pile of sea food, hardly starvation rations, another had ROV types reclining on a sofa, the bitter and twisted from upcountry booniesville on their train drivers pension werent amused.
Great stuff, love reading about these travels, and your options, pack up and go, meanwhile back in booniesville, there are others who havent left the jangwat in years, never mind leave the country.
Living in the past, sorry I live for today and tomorrow.
My Generation indeed, maybe they should have taken the advice and died before they got old.

, I know nothing of upcountry booniesville. I know people wont believe what I am about to type, about 20 years ago it used to cost me and the mrs about 5k (pommie pesos) per month just to go on holiday. Air fares paid, hotels paid, lost production time, used to knock out 20 cases of sid per month at 500 SAR per case, sell it to the bars. I didnt care how much profit they made, my profit had already been made, FFS, water sugar and yeast, cost me about 25 SAR per case, nice mark up. Another benefit of the gasses emitted is a discussion for elsewhere, needless to say , I had green fingers.

TBH I'm only trolling, can't stand (or understand) Ruggers.Every time that there is a game on in the bar I'm drinking in I have to get someone to explain to me (again) the difference between Union and League.I do enjoy drinking with Rugger players/fans, they have some great songs and will sing them for the slightest reason. Good lord man, I was under the (mistaken) impression you had studied the finer points of this fine sport on the playing fields on Eton. Please allow me to explain, Union is for men, League is for pussies. While it may be accurate to state that I have never been a hooker, I did have my fair share of offers when I was a young man.

Wonder if he has had his leg across anything yet? Or at least got the bare tit.
Too much of a gentleman to announce it on here anyway. This is the worst of living vicariously, the not knowing.
But it isn't all boring, was on Heineken for a bit of a change last night.

Sorry, my bad, I forget at times and go into a haze of long forgotten memories of a previous life. Sid is an abbreviation of the arabic word siddiq or siddiqi (depending on whether you speak proper egytian arabic, or in my case loso yemini arabic) is means friend in arabic. Sid is basically, moonshine whisky, not to be confused with jeddah gin, that isnt gin at all but wine.

So my wanders today resulted in me arriving at the National Museum of Brazil - quite a good museum, but not excellent. I always hope to find out something new, so here's what I learned today. Bonaparte threatened to overrun Portugal, so the British escorted the Portuguese royal family to Brazil. Now, that's interesting to me as Brazil was still a slaving nation at the time, and from memory, the Brits had just abolished slavery? Anyway, after the defeat of Napoleon, a Portuguese prince decided to remain in Brazil and declared independence. The Argentinians soon spat the dummy on behalf of the Spanish speaking world, and a war started. The war was ended by British diplomacy and led to the creation of Uruguay. As we all know, Uruguay have won the world cup more than England, and they never had a "was it over the line," controversy like the English did. ie - they won fair and square. Then again, the Uruguayans were a bunch of cheating bastids at the 1986 world cup, especially in a notorious game against Scotland which resulted in us getting knocked out. For that, we can blame the effin English for sticking their noses into a South American war that was nothing to do with them. Everything is always England's fault in the end. #just sayin'

On another note - this place can be expensive - a night out at a decent club here would rival London prices.
