At least it was not "Hope this is over with in time for me to go to dinner." I once was interrupted having my chocolate pot by a shooting in Chinatown in London and had to rush off in a taxi before my coffee and mints. <iframe width="20.120000000000005" height="2.8799999999999955" style="position: absolute; width: 20.12px; height: 2.88px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 946px; top: -153px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_6470436" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="20.120000000000005" height="2.8799999999999955" style="position: absolute; width: 20.12px; height: 2.88px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 10px; top: -61px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_33682552" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="20.120000000000005" height="2.8799999999999955" style="position: absolute; width: 20.12px; height: 2.88px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 946px; top: -61px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_73948119" scrolling="no"></iframe> Most inconvenient that was.

Almost as bad as me finally getting round to asking a nurse I knew from Uni out for a date while we were in the morgue having taken a body there. (That hospital still had the ward nurse do the last walk to the morgue with her patient)...all dressed in the goth black uniform Dunedin hospital used to have.

That kind of thing used to happen a lot to my ex girlfriend when we used to live in a lardy da part of N. London and used to get called out at night when she was a midwife. I distinctly remember opening up the boot of the the car, being overwhelmed by the amount of kit she used to have to carry around with her, birthing pools and all !

I'm happy for the man and a big thank you for the hospital staff
BUT
it would have been better if this had not been made public. It tends to give lots of similar (or near similar) requests, copycats. There are reason why animals are not allowed in hospitals. I'm sure some would even like to ban visitors if that were possible. Hospitals are impossible to clean and keep clean. The easiest place to catch some nasty bugs.

The hospital regulations are ridiculous. They allow in humans (the same species as the patient), but under normal circumstances ban other species. The patients are far more at risk from diseases that affect their own species than diseases from other, distantly related, species. I've never heard of a human being suffering from distemper or (canine strains of) parvo.

AyG has a very salient point.
There we are sick, ill injured whatever, so we are packed of to hospital and immersed among all the other lurgy bearing types.
Silly really being surround by all those other disease ridden germ and virus carriers i e sick people.

Silly really being surround by all those other disease ridden germ and virus carriers i e sick people. In the early days of modern medicine it was found that women were more likely to die of puerperal fever during childbirth in hospital than if they gave birth at the side of the road on the way to hospital.
