In most cases a spousal murder is the result of pent up anger, tension, dislike, financial, social issues etc over a prolonged period of time.
The plea ''crime passionnel'' (crime of passion) is not going to work in this case.
Prima facie evidence points to a cold calculated crime with little or no remorse perhaps due to shock or pure hatred for the victim.
No sympathy for him.

I cannot believe the malevolent spiteful perverted comments that judgmentally flawed inadequate insecure creatures are making concerning the deceased the children and the accused.
