Ah, mateys, I am happy to report I have a new girlfriend. She's a lovely Burmese lass, 20 years my junior, who has spent some time time living in America, is of loose morals and is willing to give it up before marriage. She also speaks English at a high level. This is a unicornlike combination which I don't want to blow. This weekend, I'm coming to Bangkok to deal with some immigration related issues, and along with getting my visa extended at the Myanmar embassy, I have another task. She wants me to buy some shoes. Where do I find these in a size 42?
I'm thinking I'll just go to MBK tomorrow and show the pic the people at the info desk and ask WHERE? But if that doesn't work... What am I going to do?
Help!

I would suggest going to Pratunam rather than mbk....its got a wider selection and better prices for fashion items.

I wear a size 45, so I know, after many times looking for just ordinary mens shoes, I'd have no luck, even in Bangkok.

Are the boots for her, I mean, isn't size 42 rather large for a female foot, I'm a size 42 and I'm 6 feet 3?
But yes Prathunam is a sure thing for something like that.

Furthermore I'm an elderly gentleman, wearing glasses, abhorring (unnecessary) violence and with motto "physical violence is a sign of verbal incompetence". I'm also cheekily pragmatic. Never tried it yet, but always wondered what would happen if in a bar faced with some personal threat I'd shout "10 quid and a pint for who knocks him down"

Well build, big boned, broad shoulders, 'chesty' type. Bull's neck I was told, but I'm not sure. Arm's length sufficient, hands slightly bigger than Trumps. Not really 'never give up, never surrender' type, but close; more likely to combine intellect with raw power. When I was a real youngster I brought my parents to despair (and near poverty maybe) by frequently coming back from school with broken glasses. When "first count to ten' didn't help I was told 'then at least take off your glasses first'. That helped, after a while I didn't even have to take off my glasses any more.

More Ronald Koeman than Rubl Gullit then?
