^^^^ now now, lets not be so quick to judge, down the ass end of On Nut, I regularly frequent Bunny Snooker, them "markees" are way more pleasing on the eye than anything I have observed down lower souk, lets not forget the Thai style watering holes, cheap as chips, great places.
Of course If I need to go upmarket I just head round the corner to Tigerfish territory, soi 44 is where its all happening these days.

The article is a bit vague but it seem to imply that the 'locals' are foreigners who are at ease.
If that's the case it would mean the real locals have been pushed out because of higher prices only foreigners find low. Anyway, seems like a farang colony, full of types who get away from home to work on getting the new place to be like home.

At least in a McMansion you can step outside and be outside even if it's the middle of nowhere. With condo's the step outside can easily end in a 26 fl. drop.

Doesn't mention Grumpy's although that's probably included as a relatively newly established sports bar
My observation is that it has more budget end expats, than mid-lower Sukhumvit. Still has a very local feel to it, and there are not many foreign run bars at all, so not a farang colony by any means yet.

Yes we note with some disdain that you have chosen of late to hang out in the shire with a bunch of hobbits.

I was slagged off elsewhere for saying the same thing year ago, go check out the Tesco/lotus food court of an evening. Years ago Big C foodcourt used to have a stall selling beer, its was like a pensioners convention hall. FFS even the mrs mentioned about the cheap chalee farangs hovering around waiting to buy the discounted foodstuff after 8 in the evening, they descended on it like a plauge of locusts. If you are up for it, take a tour down suk soi 81, ebayers and digital pikey types telling us we can live in Bkk on 15k baht per month, they all lamnet the passing of the beer garden, they cant afford a 8 baht bus fare to check out the beer garden on Pridi.

Not getting something here as usual, what instagram notoriety does Thonglor have? I did see a pub on 55 advertising "Happy Hour, Guinness 160", did not have a chance to investigate and not sure if it still applies.

Good gawd man, knock three times and have your trousers rolled up in the appropirate manner before I answer that question, we will have every pikey vlogger and his rabid rabies infested soi dog all over our favourite watering hole.
I suggest The Londoner, priced to keep them cheapo pikey twats out.
