Wow wowee....I've met a real Spitfire pilot!! Tell us about it Smokes, honestly, I am genuinely interested. About 5 years ago I was in a songthaew , which belonged to the in-laws as a transport for their farm hands. On that day we were on a field trip going to a temple which was about 2 hours away from my wife's Sakhon Nakorn house and we stopped off in a village along the way to pick up a very old lady (90+). It turned out that she was an active member of the Vichi Thai (Thai resistance) during WW2. Had to have some translation help but she was the most interesting person that I have ever met ( and yes I have met both RGS and Maggie (God bless her)). You are very fortunate indeed Tony. As am I to have had my granny in my life....some amazing women out there....totally unassuming who were the backbone of the war effort. That Thai lady must have had nerves of steel.

She flinched when I tried to cop a free grope when the songthaew swerved, must be an age thing.

I hadn't touched a drop of the J at that time (it was early & SWMBO was sat opposite me). Did have my hip flask ready for when the wife was talking to Buddha at the temple though.

So a job that originally took 2 minutes now took half a day, because you needed scaffolding erected 3' off the ground. That took 15 minutes to erect, but hours of waiting for them to turn up after the paperwork was done, and a site inspection carried out.

I got into avery heated debate over similar things with a senior manager on a job that was costing USD 15,000 /hr in chartering fees, he started bitch about all the standing around waiting for paperwork and " going through the process" and trying to blame the subcontractor, ie they are taking the p*ss to drive up billiable hours... My response...they are actually waiting on "our" people, process, paperwork, which you and your 2 IC fking numbnut safety fkwIt forced on these people when is wasnt needed, yes i was in that meeting numbnut These clowns had forced a double system to be used ie the contractor used all their own paperwork and then were forced to have duplicate paperwork issued by our lot...completely overboard and just stupid, instead of just saying as long as your paperwork complies with and meets the intent of our systems as bring comparable we are happy with this... No these fkers reinvented the wheel and made it square.....and the fking pair of them had MBA's...fking clueless

A team of contractors turned up and couldn't plug in their electrical equipment. They'd brought their own cable extensions. I walked over to the plant and confiscated the extension. It had a plug on each end, and they'd plugged one end in! 555

Round up the pigeons in Bangkok. Take them into the countryside, and release. I'm taking bets on this, as I've seen it tried before.
This has been keeping me awake at night for long enough now. Is it easy to round pigeons up? Is there a knack to it? Or a nightschool course? I suppose it is obvious to everyone but me.

It is surprising that in a place where rat meat is considered a delicacy (by some), pigeons are just ignored. Pigeon pie was a popular dish centuries ago.
