Even your activities in the past as undercover copper are protected. Same idea, same logic, same rights.

News for you, I and my colleagues are well protected. We didn't interfere with children
Now why do you, why would you support the shielding of pedophiles ?
You have any logical reasons for that? Indeed very peculiar comment which brings serious doubts to mind concerning your moral standpoint.
The criminal becomes the victim and the victim the criminal according to your logic.
Logic not your strongest point I see so let me explain.
THe express is a tabloid and good at writing what it would seem part of the British public wants to hear/read.
"PAEDOPHILES’ privacy could be protected online if new laws proposed by the European Commission (EC) come into effect, sparking a furious response from charities and the Government, as the EU is accused of undermining the fight against online abuse.
New EU regulations would stop tech firms from locating child sex abuse images on their platforms and reporting them to the police because it could infringe the paedophile’s privacy, charities have said."
Now the European Privacy Regulation (EPR) is a work in progress which tries to protect the individual from abuse by companies as well as governments. The right to privacy, even an Englishman should appreciate the effort. No doubt it will not be 100% perfect as that seldomly happens with laws and if it does it mostly means the law is inflexible. That lack of flexibility is what most people always complain about, that's also the part which is the most difficult to cover in a law unless you you're thinking of explicitly listing thousands of possible combinations.
By the way the work in progress has seen a few iterations and published proposals, at least as early as January 2017.
That's the easy part, now for the details. Well, do some reading yourself.
