Misleading reporting. The Taliban hasn't barred girls from High School. It's simply kept the girls' High Schools closed - presumably because of the security situation, as they did last time they were in power. When the security situation improves (which, of course, in the Taliban's eyes, it never will) girls' High Schools will be reopened.
As for "Afghanistan's new rulers also close women's affairs ministry", good for them. Women shouldn't be having affairs and should be faithful to their Islamic owners.

While I wake up early because my dog wants to go walk and do her 'business' others kept awake to roam the streets of Pattaya to keep them safe and yet others here seem to have been unable to sleep worrying about money and their portfolio. A mixed lot here on the Big Mango  |

If I am the one to whom you refer as roaming the streets etc, I'll have you know I can't remember when I was more than a mile away from my common lodging house.
Now I think, it was probably the last time I went to BigC about four months ago.
Now I think again, once a week I seem to walk along Beach Rd but the beggars at the north end are getting a bit pushy so I may revise the itinerary. Feel sorry for the poor
gits but.
Pishington down here, probably everywhere else too.

This morning I realised that I'm truly living the life in full here in Bangkok. After all at 08:10 I was sitting on the back of a motorcycle, stuck in traffic on the Ratchawithi railroad crossing with trains approaching from the left and the right. The one thing missing though: no rain.  |
