Windows Update told me it was busy "Upgrading to Windows 11". You'd hardly expect it to say something different BTW finished and (seemingly) functioning without a problem. Moved to Windows 11, a few updates for Windows 11, .NET, and already put my desktop wallpaper back. Now wondering where certain settings have moved to. With Windows I've stopped wondering WHY it moved. I am trying not to upgrade just yet as it seems that AMD can be slowed by it and my comp and graphics are amd. Most of the time once Microsoft sorts out the odd bugs because none of the world's computers are configured the same (which they usually do within about a month) the changes are positive although finding things can be a bit like being married and having the other half go crazy and reorganise the house.

I now have a ProBook 440 G7, Intel inside. Five year ago I had an EliteBook 745, nice and AMD CPU/Graphics. Would spontaneous reboot every once in a while without any reason. All SW up-to-date and so. Then one day the next quarterly Windows update and ... no more problems. One of those things.

Just misread a slogan "The MBA program that opens doors, connects ledgers, and ignites success" Seems that was 'connects leaders' but I'm not sure of the difference

In 'rage against the machine' they never said what type of machine they were furious with I gather it must have been a printer

There's a thought!
I'm not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings.
I'm a drunk, we go to parties.

What do we learn from cows, buffaloes and elephants?
It is impossible to reduce weight by eating green grass and salads and walking

Seems some people decided on a campaign against electrical vehicles. Looks political and maybe industry pushed. "Just buy an electrical car" is the modern version of "Let them eat cake". Especially Americans seem to dislike cake

Thought of the day, with thanks to some Americans (not working for Micro$oft as far as I know) to bring this up in times of need for amusement.

Connecting ledgers was a big thing when it first came out. I'd assumed that was something to do with accounting, or perhaps the family of the Australian actor who died tragically young. However, a Google search suggests it's something to do with connecting decking to one's house.

In Dutch 'dubbele boekhouding' as in duplicate ledgers has a negative meaning as in one ledger for tax purposes and one more real. You might call that disconnected ledgers

My simple mind was connecting nominal ledger to sales, purchase and or payroll ledgers. Who knows or really cares.
