Windows 10 is dogshit, even worse than dogshit. You would perhaps be amazed at how much time my partner and I spend looking at our dogs' shit*, studying the size, texture, aroma and volume. It's a matter of great fascination. As for Windows, however, if I never have to see it again, I won't be upset. * Just to clarify, one of our dogs has EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). She's lucky to be alive. Every meal has to be pre-processed with enzymes to turn it into a semi-digested mush. Close monitoring of the outcome of her digestion is very important for her health. |

I dont want or need them. If not, I will contribute to global warming and toss this piece of microsoft shite in the klong san saep, and revert to my other xp computer. |

I only have Windows/10 on my company notebook with company mandated image which is truly and well locked down by the corporate IT group in the States. At least I know where to complain Last I looked some (most/all?) Windows and security updates (aka windows updates and corrections) you can't block as someone things you should have them. When you're online Windows may wake up and check for these essential updates. You can also time it a bit by selecting 'Windows update' followed by 'Check for Updates. The need for such timing depends a bit on your connection to the Internet. Also some updates require a reboot after preparation for installation and if you say 'yes' you may still be waiting for it to finish after 4 to 12 hours depending on (logical) size of the update and how the disks + I/O subsystem of your PC are. Windows special editions like Windows/10 1810 or 1803 you only get when you select "windows update" and then "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update". You're supposed to be able to 'temporarily block installation of such 'feature releases' and do so regularly (the blocking that is). |
