"Do no wrong", I was referring to the UK media over the last decades when any RC mentioned was always described as a devout catholic, (the word Protestant was usually followed by the word bigots). Sneering at Christianity was acceptable, sneering at the C of E was almost compulsory, but any negative comment about the RC church or it's members was automatically deemed offensive.
In news reports from Ulster in the bad days loyalist paramilitaries were invariably described as Protestant murder gangs / Protestant extremists. Whereas the denomination of IRA and INLA members was rarely if ever mentioned. Except in death when membership would be denied and the deceased described as an innocent Catholic with no interest in politics.
Until the outbreak of the sex scandals most comment they received would be positive, at worst neutral.

Eh? Is somebody inferring that Catholics are not Christians? The very idea!!! Of course they're not Christians. Do you think Jesus would approve of the extreme opulence of the Catholic church? The boy-buggering priests? The non-biblical theological beliefs such as "purgatory", "confession"*, "prayers for the dead", "veneration of the virgin Mary", "worship of relics", "holy water", "canonisation", "rosaries", "indulgences", acceptance of "the apocrypha"? It's more a cargo cult based upon the "Pope" backed up by a tanker load of mumbo jumbo. * Yes, James 5:16 reads (KJV) "Confess your faults one to another" - it's to one another - not to some ludicrously becassocked priest. He sounds like me. I wonder if he's taking the p**s.

Until the outbreak of the sex scandals most comment they received would be positive, at worst neutral. There seems to be a difference in how things were in Britain and how in the Netherlands. Although since late 16th century long time treated as second rank citizens, catholics were 'rehabilitated' slowly and formally with completion around 1850. Of course, various Christian faiths still avoided each other and every one needed it's own, proper primary/secondary school, political party, labour union, etc., etc. "Two beliefs on one pillow, the devil sleeps in the middle" refers to Christian sects to not inter-marry (don't think anyone contemplated non-Christian beliefs). The Netherlands was (is?) a classical example of pillarisation based on religion. ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillarisation ). All this has become much less important with secularisation of society with less and less people saying they belong to, are member of, a church.

To be sure, dearDonaldTrump did not cave in! Sean Hannity said so and he warned those telling this fake news. Somehow he was a bit unspecific in who were calling the Pres a wimp, but that's a minor detail of course. Anyway with Trump always watching Hannity I guess we'll get a new showdown in three weeks time when (if?) our dearWimp doesn't get his wall. "Fox News' Sean Hannity Issues Warning To People Saying Donald Trump 'Caved' Many right-wing figures lined up Friday night to criticize President Donald Trump for temporarily ending the government shutdown for three weeks without having convinced Congress to fund his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall. Controversial commentator Ann Coulter called Trump “the biggest wimp ever to serve as president” and Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said Trump had been “whipped” by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)." www.yahoo.com/entertainment/fox-news-apos-sean-hannity-130954545.html

Totally unexplainable is the absence of our great, real great Commander in Lies dearDonaldTrump, Sean Hannity? 88? What is interesting is that those who make mistakes tend to own up to their mistakes and issue a 'mea culpa' with additional info. Only the die-hards seem to be incapable of owning up and even keep pushing 'untruths' or invent new arguments. In the story of the topic the only real innocents seem to be the Native Americans.

Your determination is admirable. However the Native American gentlemen has been proven to be the aggressor in this case as well as a total fraud. Apart from your good self the rest of the loony lefty brigade have buried this story and act like it never happened - for good reason.

Apart from your good self the rest of the loony lefty brigade have buried this story and act like it never happened - for good reason. Rather than boring us with someone conclusion you might offer arguments which justify such conclusions. Of course even if allegations are true it doesn't seem to have any relation with the incident under discussion. BTW "Native American activist Nathan Phillips has never said he served in combat in Vietnam, though he has often referred to his service in the U.S. Marine Corps as the “Vietnam times.” On Wednesday, the Marines clarified this, telling The Washington Post and other media outlets that Phillips had served from June 1972 to May 1976 in the Marine Corps Reserve, serving first as an infantryman and then a refrigerator technician." www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ny-news-nathan-phillips-veteran-vietnam-marines-covington-20190123-story.htmlPS the last marines left Vietnam about 1973 I think although last forces left with embassy personel in April 1975. So Mr. Phillips served during Vietnam times. That's unlike some people who suffer, really suffer from bonespurs.
