Another example of the crass insensitivity of the Moslem world is that, two days after Easter and the Sri Lanka murders, a man was crucified by the authorities in Saudi Arabia. Unlike Jesus, he won't rise again. www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-48028518

I guess death by injecting some strange poisonous cocktail is so much more humane?

I guess death by injecting some strange poisonous cocktail is so much more humane? There's a fair bit to comment on your reply: (1) You appear to have missed the point that the use of crucifixion immediately after Easter (and an Easter with an Islamic attack, to boot) is insensitive. It could even be seen as a deliberate slight to Christendom. (2) Being a terrorist in Saudi Arabia often means either (a) opposing the authorities, or (b) being from the wrong Moslem sect. The charges may well be meaningless in the context of justice. (3) All death penalties are inhumane. Only barbaric countries like Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea and the United States still practice state-sanctioned murder. (4) Most countries that have the death penalty at least try to carry it out quickly and with (at least notionally) relatively little physical agony. Saudi Arabia doesn't. Of course, Saudi justice is an oxymoron when one remembers that foreign maids are executed when their young charges choke to death, foreign workers are executed for killing their highly abusive employers, and others are executed for "witchcraft". In 2010, 27 migrant workers were executed in Saudi Arabia and (as of 2013) more than 45 foreign maids were currently on death row. www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/the-beheading-of-a-housemaid-in-saudi-arabia-highlights-slave-like-conditions-8451951.html

Crucifixion just after Eastern insensitive? Also about the 'wrong' sects, maybe Rott and I agree that an agnostic should not talk about sects, following which we two will continue quarreling of course (Rott and I that is)

(2) Being a terrorist in Saudi Arabia often means ... being from the wrong Moslem sect. And so it turns out to be. 34 of the 37 beheaded where Shiites.

It would seem the terrorists took their wifes and children with them. Fifteen dead as Sri Lanka forces raid Islamist hideout Fifteen people including six children have died during a Sri Lankan security forces operation in the aftermath of the Easter attacks, as three cornered suicide bombers blew themselves up and others were shot dead, police said Saturday. The three men set off explosives, also killing three women and six children inside what was believed to a jihadist safe house near the eastern town of Kalmunai on Friday night. sg.news.yahoo.com/sri-lanka-troops-join-hunt-bombing-suspects-045300773.html

Other reports are suggesting 20 dead.
Still, it's a start. Only 1.8 billion to go.

Gun battle at a house in Eastern Sri Lanka. 15 dead including (I think) 6 children. I wonder, are there any Sri Lankan politicians crass enough to spout bullshit like "diversity makes us stronger" after these multiple suicide bombs by ROPers? WE could always send them Naz Shah if they are short.

I'm not sure that doing back-breaking work in tea plantations counts as "favoured". There was also a group of (lower level) clerks. Mind you, in all the situation is a bit more complicated. Even before the Europeans started their fun, there was a group of 'Indian' Tamils present in Sri Lanka. What makes the Eastern attack strange is that religion wise about 9% of Sri Lankan population is Muslim, 7.3% Christian, with 70% Buddhist. Not saying it might create a situation of 'not my problem' in SriLanka, but in a way some may indeed feel not really to be involved.

This would never have happened if it was still Ceylon.

Not surprising. Sunni Moslems (which Sri Lankan Moslems predominantly are) cut themselves with swords on their Holy Day of Ashura.
