^^^ Try reading that again. He started with $77k, but ended up losing $9 million. And the price was -$37/barrel.

Ran the Chiang Mai comment through three plagiarisms checker sit they all came up negative. Seems that apart from the Chiangmai post here nothing is in the public domain. Bloody curfew leads one down some strange roads. Indeed , 'The devil makes work for idle hands.''

Can anyone please explain these, I alaways thought they were regarded as high risk Investors are often herd-like in their behaviour. They invest in what has recently performed well. This pushes up the the prices of the investment, so driving performance upwards. Investors then pile in more money and the prices go up again. The prices are simply not supported by company performance or logic. The only questions really are (a) will they go up further, and (b) can I get out before they come crashing down? If you look at the underlying investments, you'll typically see they have a very high P/E ratio, and low or negative profitability. Tesla, for example, has a P/E ratio of 5,183. It lost $1 billion in 2018, and a further $862 million last year. Netflix P/E ratio is is rather less ludicrous, but still extremely high, at 88. In 2018, Netflix had a free cash flow of minus $3 billion. At some point sanity must be restored, and share prices will come crashing down. But when will that be? As someone* famously said "The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent." * Quotation variously attributed to Warren Buffett, John Maynard Keynes, Gary Shilling, et al..

Highly relevant since IBKR are going to be covering that and other related losses. Anyway, glad to be of service.

The name makes me think of irritable bowel syndrome for some reason, I wonder if that was intentional.

Another fund I've held for many years is Baillie Gifford International, it's recovered the fastest and furthest of all my holdings during the most recent crash and reaffirms the high level of expertise that Charles Plowden brings to the fund and to BG itself.
