To be precise, there's also a jail term for burning the British flag.
"Germany has made public burning of the EU flag or that of another country punishable by up to three years in jail, classing it as a hate crime"

I understand Britain move have similar symbols less valued by continental Europeans. BTW up-to-a-point the flag of the USA is similar to the flag of the E.U. Even the 'Union Jack' represents four countries. PS "The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of 27 member states that are located primarily in Europe." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union"The Flag of Europe or European Flag[note 1] is an official symbol used by two separate organisations, the Council of Europe (CoE) as a symbol representing Europe,[3] and the European Union (EU). It consists of a circle of twelve five-pointed stars on a blue field." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_EuropePPS still checking but it seems only in Britain the E.U. is described as a project. It's almost as if to diminish it's value by using the 'project' label.

From what I read on his timeline, he's not alone.

The E.U. is an idea which is treasured by many Europeans I guess that would be the unelected and unaccountable EU bureaucrats on high salaries. It might include the power-crazed politicians who are able to impose their ludicrous policies on other countries. It might include people in southern Europe with their basketcase economies and massive tax evasion that are propped up by EU tax payers in the north. It might include people from eastern Europe who can freely migrate to more successful economies and live on state handouts paid for by the indigenous tax payers, or make a life from crime. You know, pickpocketing, sex trafficking, extortion, tax fraud and the like. It might also include the mafiosi who cheat the EU out of vasts sums of money each year. For that matter, it might include French farmers who, whilst not mafiosi, also massively defraud the EU. And do you really think Europeans love the way that mass economic migration has been foisted upon the people by the likes of Merkel? The massive influx of unskilled, economically worthless individuals who come here to rape, rob and live off state benefits whilst professing to hate all that western civilisation stands for? For decent, honest, hardworking Europeans with even half a brain the EU is not an idea to be treasured.

Let's just say that all countries have their own dumbos who are easily persuaded by populist politicians, like Salvini, Farage and the like who do not really seem to care for the harm they cause as long as they're in the picture. Of course, IMHO.

What you call unelected and unaccountable EU bureaucrats applies in the same way, or actually doesn't apply at all in the same way, to WH unelected and unaccountable English bureaucrats. Furthermore bureaucrats are appointed on merit (in the ideal case that is) and are required to regularly write reports on their activities which are implicit accounts. Lastly bureaucrats do whatever their political boss tells them to do, with the boss probably reacting to a request of the elected European Parliament. As for the 'massive defrauding' by French Farmers, please provide relevant information and we'll sue them. Regarding the 'immigrants' no doubt you know that in the 60sh and 70sh many Western European countries 'imported' workers from Marocco, Turkey, Italy, Spain to fill potions they could not fill by their own people. Some due to lack of people but mostly because the own people didn't want to do such work anymore. No thought was given to 'what about forty years from now those people will retire?'. Legally so after having been part of the workforce for so long. As for "The massive influx of unskilled, economically worthless individuals who come here to rape, rob and live off state benefits whilst professing to hate all that western civilisation stands for?", your ignorance starts to show through. Are you a Farange or a Trump supporter? As for the 'idea of the E.U.' it would seem that no one has come up with a better idea, apart from starting another war.

An interesting news item here that suggests that there are certain elements in Germany and no doubt elsewhere in the EU who are dedicated to the the cause of German superiority in Europe. IE, a new Fourth Reich,

Politics, politics. Personally I'm more of a slightly left of the middle type of guy. As for supporting British politicians, none really. I may comment, but up to a point it's local business. BTW Rotherham and it's special problem is a British problem left over from the Empire days. We Dutch had our own problem with migration from former colonies and as some have it we are also still busy processing (and admitting) what went wrong.

Re right wing terrorism and the serious threat it presents, I do not wish to reproduce the whole post but the first quote is more than two years old now.
So there must be statistics about to validate this claim (or otherwise). I suspect that there is still more terrorism from Irish Republicans than the far right. I also suspect that the intelligence agencies are concentrated more on the ones whose name we dare not mention.

In Britain MI5 is not in the habit to regularly and detailed report to the general public although responsable Departments and government officials / politicians no doubt get regular updates. It would seem that the threat of international terrorism has decreased but the threat of domestic terrorism increased. That includes all type of terrorism, left, right, religious. The official MI5 site doesn't have much (of course) www.mi5.gov.uk/news-and-speechesBTW the first quote might be more than two years old, but the other two not September 2019 "Far-Right Terrorism Is the Fastest Growing Threat to the U.K., Police Say" time.com/5681199/uk-far-right-terrorism/ January 2020 "Rotherham Muslims launch ‘guardian’ group after far-right threats This article is more than 3 months old More than 100 volunteer for community protection after Britain First targets mosques" www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jan/29/rotherham-muslims-launch-guardian-group-after-far-right-threats

BTW, my dear rott, is this recent enough? 25th of March, 2020 "Far-right terrorism driven by austerity in UK, former head of MI5 says 'There seems to be a constituency of disaffected males who find extreme right-wing beliefs attractive,' Lord Evans says ... In the interview published in the CTC Sentinel journal, he said some far-right terrorists had been “consciously and deliberately inspired by the perceived success of violent Islamists”. Lord Evans said the English Defence League (EDL) were “mutually symbiotic” with Anjem Choudary’s al-Muhajiroun (ALM) group. ..." www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/far-right-terrorism-uk-austerity-cuts-mi5-a9424596.html"A View from the CT Foxhole: Jonathan Evans, Former Director General, MI5 MARCH 2020, VOLUME 13, ISSUE 3" ctc.usma.edu/view-ct-foxhole-jonathan-evans-former-director-general-mi5/
