All the restaurants gearing up for the re-start on Monday when they can once again sell alcohol and perhaps pay the rent.
I see that the Bodega is a restaurant, never realised that. Though they have always had signs outside offering cold cuts.
I realise nobody on here is involved in this activity but you may know someone who is, so you can tell them that the famous short-time venue PS Guest House remains boarded up and out of business. Serves them right for blatantly serving beer weeks after the lockdown.

And the latest news/rumour is that licensing hours are 11 to 2 and 5 to 11.
If true, is this another serious attempt to fack things up.?

What sort of area do you live in? Our local shop has never had any restrictions on the purchase of alcohol, if you have the cash you're good to go...  |

I am strictly a pub, club and bar drinker, at home I'd rather have a cup of tea. Quietly celebrated the limited relaxation of the rules with 4 pints of Tiger at 95 baht a go and to satisfy the food requirement had a plate of chips and something at 145 baht. I am due for a bit of mea culpa about the Bodega, I misconstrued the removal of the security netting as re-opening. They were just giving the place a clean. I think the young lady I asked had been locked in there for 3 months and I was the first outsider she'd spoken to, could not shut her up. |

Nice to see the Bodega, getting a mention, a Pattaya institution, proper old skool boozer.
Take that on board all you farang suckers thinking about reinventing the wheel, if it aint broke, dont fix it, we dont need no poncy sports bars or plastic paddy bars, we want cold beer and no hassle service.
Anyway I digress, according to those in the know Tree Town is where its at these days.
Heres another, giving us a tour, no need to leave the comfort of your chesterfield Kh Rott, great to see the Sailor Bar is still going, see above, another legendary Pattaya place, no frills and no bs service, been there for years and will still be there in years to come. What matey boy didnt mention, these sois have been on the bones of there ass for years.

Er, well to be honest, never had a drink in the Bodega.
Sailor Bar is an old standby that I could do with spending more time in. My South African friends were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Good job they didn't meet the miserable bastards on the day shift.
TreeTown to me looks too full of normal people, ie fresh faced under fifties (well near enough) and sometimes accompanied by white females, not the usual, haggard, washed up wannabe degenerates one sees.

Omitted to say been out for a walk and a mooch and a number of caff type places seem happy to serve drink with no food requirement.

I go to a bar to drink and talk to mates, I dont need some dek serv telling me sick buffalo stories, look love, the only time I want to talk to you is to tell you what I want to drink, bring me the drink, then get back on your perch and look for another sucker. Pattaya these days looks too full of normal people, I remember the glory days of the pig and whistle, the flipper lodge, the rising sun, ffs, remember it before the dogs bollocks ever apperared, the days of the thistle bar etc etc. Wankers with a effin selfie stick and tossers doing live streams, what is that all about? |

Out last night, plenty places serving drink without food, but the social distancing was being observed. Had one in a place that has never done food. Have to see how it plays out. They ain't shy of closing places down, the one next door was done same time as the PS, exactly same reason. |
