Other reports on this include him complaining to others that he was really really hungry and that he had been living in a small windowless room in the hotel for many months, things that are perhaps somewhat more of a driver than his religion!

Although there is overlap 'the religion of peace' and 'hatred of jews' are two different things/beliefs/ideologies/whatever.

Although there is overlap 'the religion of peace' and 'hatred of jews' are two different things/beliefs/ideologies/whatever. Not exactly an overlap. Hatred of Jews is a fundamental aspect of Islam. I could quote various verses in the Koran and Hadith, but it's quicker to quote Schweizer and Perry who summarise the Islamic view of Jews concisely: "[Jews] are debased, cursed, anathematized forever by God and so can never repent and be forgiven; they are cheats and traitors; defiant and stubborn; they killed the prophets; they are liars who falsify scripture and take bribes; as infidels they are ritually unclean, a foul odor emanating from them." Not a lot of love there. Ref. Schweizer & Perry (2002) Anti-Semitism: myth and hate from antiquity to the present, publ. Palgrave Macmillan.

Not a lot of love there. Ref. Schweizer & Perry (2002) Anti-Semitism: myth and hate from antiquity to the present, publ. Palgrave Macmillan. Lots of Jews favorably mentioned in the Qoran. Also things like "40. O Children of Israel! Remember My blessings which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill your pledge to Me, and I will fulfill My pledge to you, and fear Me." "3. He sent down to you the Book with the Truth, confirming what came before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel." "45. The Angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest. 46. He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.”" Full text in English here, but remember the original Arabic version is the defining text as Mohammed got dictated by God. A bit like the Commandments Moses carried down from the mountain. www.clearquran.com

Lots of Jews favorably mentioned in the Qoran. All quotes from the Mecca period. Mohammed changed his mind after he fled Mecca for Medina. Let us never forget that he ordered the slaughter of hundreds of a Jewish tribe, the Banu Qurayza, because they refused to accept him as a prophet. His hatred for Jews is incontrovertible.

All the worlds religious cults in their manifold guises are nothing more than the biggest cause of war, death, enslavement, genocide, etc, along with the oppression of those who follow opposing cults as well as the manipulation of those who may be in their own chosen cults.
One can argue the rights and wrong of the issue but it will not and cannot erase the fact that in truth the average human being is somewhat weak minded and insecure. Thus said human beings are taken for fools by parasitical snake oil salesman offering eternal life and a paradise upon relocating to cloud number 1548972561236128965454789. Please collect your harp and halo from the gate keeper as you enter the pearly gates...
Now the idiots are arguing whether the sky wizard(s) are black white, green pink, yellow purple with orange spots or stripes, two, four, six, or eight legged aged between one and ten million years old .male female trans gender and whatever else some passing village idiot can dream up and find a market for.
Suckers all.

While most of the world's religious texts certainly offer some good advice on living a good life (don't murder or steal etc) the idea that some mythical heaven or hell exits in patently absurd. It's for folks who fear death, which is illogical in itself as that fear will cease to exist when you finally cark it. Enjoy life while it lasts, try not to be a dick about it. I am certainly not let some ancient book dictate what I can and can't eat or drink.

I'd love to be there at the moment AyG ascends and is greeted by Mohammed, arf arf.

Mohammed cannot change the Qoran. The Qoran is the Word of God, Mohammed is only one of His profets. Mohammed is the final prophet according to his deluded believers, and the only one who is a perfect role model. The other prophets are small beer. (The Ahmadi, who tend to be more compassionate, more rational, and less violent disagree. Of course, "proper" Moslems loathe them) The Koran is a ludicrous mess of a book, highly repetitive, and with chapters (surah) (roughly) ordered according to size, not historical sequence. Anyway, Islamic scholars have striven to put the chapters into historical sequence. Where there are conflicts between earlier and later chapters, the later chapters are considered to abrogate (repeal or overrule) the earlier chapters. In other words, the chapters from the (generally tolerant and peaceful) Mecca period are rescinded by the later (violent and hateful) chapters of the Medina period.

I am certainly not let some ancient book dictate what I can and can't eat or drink. I'm pretty sure the ancient Klingon texts were OK with your eating gagh, bregit lung with grapok sauce, racht, and rokeg blood pie. Not much in the way of restrictions there.

God dictated His Words to Mohammed. Any interpretation and/or change is blasphemy and punishable by death, apart from earning you a place in Djehenna. Allegedly that is. Luckily I have faith "... no one will enter Hell in whose heart is an atom's weight of faith.”"
