Hey guys and gals I joined this forum a couple of months ago asking for general trading advice so thought I would share an update of where I’m at First of all, the following has almost zero logic or proper financial insights but thought it could be funny and interesting to get your feedback Well I joined Interactive Brokers which was a relatively easy process. Actually the longest part for me was moving the money for trading into the account via SCB. I had to physically go into the branch and spend a good hour filing in forms for what seemed to be a very simply wire transfer Ok what next? Well I shifted $40k into the trading account and started my journey four weeks ago officially. I did a ton of reading and got amazing solid advice from people in this group but as a compulsive gambler, the long term strategy soon flew out of the window I started off by looking for stock under $100 and went basically all in each time and bought and sold at the start and end of each day. I bought and sold the likes of peloton (at the time $88), GoPro, And a few IPO (acting smart) Cut to the chase, last week I was sitting pretty at around 90k so I’m effect more than doubled my money (had a couple of small loses which I sold quickly seeing a down trend on the day). Move forward to the past week and I again went all in but with smaller stocks such as ONCT and SBE etc. now sitting at $154k admittedly by gambling but feeling great. Will slow down and invest in Peloton, Tesla, Apple and two EV stocks (Workhorse and NIO) but just wanted to share my “wrong way” of doing things . Fully appreciate that with this method it can quickly go the other way but wanted to say thanks to the people here who encouraged me to get started!!

You are able to get a great deal of good advice financially from a number of the members here. Good to see your post hopefully the money will keep rolling in. Mind you, it is possible to generate extra income by other means you know...

You turned 40k into 154k, in two months, no prior experience, just having fun....... Really! Was the 154k still there after you woke up?

Interesting. Most individuals who claim spectacular gains (and not thinking of any particular Polish gentleman as I write this), claim a foolproof methodology or terrific insight. Mr. Dunkies does neither.
I find it difficult to conclude other than that NikeD's been incredibly lucky (albeit helped by a generally rising market). Full time day-traders with years of experience would struggle to emulate that performance. (Even then, the vast majority of day-traders crashes and burns very quickly, so there are few with years of experience.)
I do hope Dunkies doesn't get carried away by his exceptional luck and end up losing it all. In the words of the great sage Kenny Rogers:

Talking of journies, we're staying at Santhyia Tree resort on koh Chang and it's heaven, if you've never been to koh Chang it's a must see. It's koh samui thirty years ago and there's not a fast food joint in sight. Santhyia Tree is on sale, normally 8k and up we got a villa next to the pool for 2k. Forget me, I'm history, I'm staying until the prices increase or the bank account is empty, it's wonderful.

Top posting, later this month the mrs and I are headed down that way, forget facebook, internet or e-mails, it all takes place on Line. Because we are repeat customers we get informed in advance on "line' of any upcoming deals, no passports or tm 30 rubbish, who says the Thais dont know how to run a business, and certainly dispels the bar stool rumours posted elsewhere about prices being increased because of no customers. These places are rocking at the weekend and on holidays, full of Thais, therein lies the problem, they aint on the farang radar, and the malcontents that post elsewhere think because their farang ghettoes are suffering, the rest of thailand is the same. Heres a tip gunter, or hans or whatever, get off your barstool and venture out into the real Thailand. Enjoy CM.

Yes, spot on. Santhyia had five guests all week and we were two of them, tonight another forty are booked in. There was no wait for the car ferry on Tuesday, were told the wait extends to two hours on Sunday. But some hotels in Pattaya are increasing prices on Friday and Saturday night but only by 500 or so, otherwise it's a buyers market.

We went to Koh Chang once about 15 years ago. Caught a private boat over, stayed the day on some deserted beach, and private boat back again.

Nice. This is the place to find deserted beaches that's for sure. And fresh inexpensive seafood also. We ate at a local seafood place last night, crab, scallops, snapper and got away under 1k Baht.

I'll put my question to the correct poster......Whatever happened to him??? ( and not thinking of any particular Polish gentleman as I write this) I had a quick look earlier. He's still active on Facebook and (more so) on Twitter. He's posting about the massive money he's making from his equities trading and boasting about how his Walen schools are going to become a global entity. There's also a fair bit about politics (he's not a fan of Trump) and abortion (I'm guessing he suffered a Roman Catholic upbringing, being Polish). And he's single, so if you're looking for a date, hit him up.
