Nice. This is the place to find deserted beaches that's for sure. And fresh inexpensive seafood also. We ate at a local seafood place last night, crab, scallops, snapper and got away under 1k Baht. Brilliant stuff, top banana.

I'll put my question to the correct poster......Whatever happened to him??? ( and not thinking of any particular Polish gentleman as I write this) I had a quick look earlier. He's still active on Facebook and (more so) on Twitter. He's posting about the massive money he's making from his equities trading and boasting about how his Walen schools are going to become a global entity. There's also a fair bit about politics (he's not a fan of Trump) and abortion (I'm guessing he suffered a Roman Catholic upbringing, being Polish). And he's single, so if you're looking for a date, hit him up. 55555 - hardly - never took him and his businesses/recommendations to be credible (remember the self-promos of his "Ínvestor"and Language [Visa] Courses, and the effusive 'çlient' support???)

He does not mention the fact that he left Thailand with somewhat indecent haste leading the race by just two paces ahead of the sheriff and three paces ahead of a lynch mod of irate and duped clients... Note his self proposed ''Walen coin'' has yet to see great (if any) success in the light of day in the cyberbanking financial world.

Is there a prize for the most diverse thread ever, this one wins hand down I reckon. We had a couple of nights in Pattaya, on a weekend, big mistake, the restaurants and hotels we frequent were absolutely heaving with Bangkokians on weekend jaunts. Garden Cliff Resort, some 192 rooms, fully booked, couldn't even find space in the parking lot (only four rooms booked on Monday). Sky Gallery restaurant, Cosy Beach, a two-hour wait on Saturday. Yet if you walk down Beach Road the street and beach were deserted...Terminal 21 was doing a brisk trade, Walking Street was deserted and very sad looking. If your measure of how robust the tourism scene is comprises looking at the number of people in beer bars and gogo joints, you'll come up with absolutely the wrong answer.

Great stuff, great to meet a fellow traveller, I though it was only me who witnessed these things. As mentioned before, we have no problem with bookings, for the simple reason we will book in for at least 4 if not 5 nights, Thu - Mon night, no problem. Should be mentioned, not just Pattaya, Bang Saen, Rayong, Cha Am and hua Hin are the same. When we are up Nakon Nayok way, I see the office girls coming in droves, still wearing the company uniform, they arrive on a Fri night, stay Sat and Sun night, and head back to work in Bkk on a Mon morning.

Haha
Didn’t expect some of the nay sayers. It’s cool.
I was not actually bragging about the earnings I was more actually referencing my dumb luck.
I placed a $80k yesterday pre open on NBAC as an example and took away 35k - look I know it’s risky and not sensible to many. But I’m going with the run as I’ve banked back my initial investment so the remaining cash I can be a little riskier with.
Honestly I’m not trying to say this is a foolproof way or even have sound advice for anyone
Kind of just wanted to thank the people that nudged me to download a trading platform and get started.
Wishing everyone else some luck as well

Back in the early 1970's I watched a man in Vegas play red and black, he walked up to the table I was watching, waited for about four spins of the wheel and then placed $1k on red and he won. He kept winning until with 16k on black he lost and walked away. What more can be said.

We must have met before I think that was actually me Joking asides - I planned to make a pretty diverse longer term portfolio but seriously either panic fill my body if I feel the stocks are going to drop in value so I sell within the day or simply I get impatient Horrible side effect of this betting each day is that I cannot pull myself away from the IB app on my phone - my real work is suffering Anyway I’ll post when I eventually lose it all Chiangmai - thanks for not being an a_hole to me

Did want to give one example of how NOT to trade though
I literally googled “cheapest stocks” one more and found one that sounded funny NAKD at 0.09. Chucked in 15k with no research as I thought to myself it hadn’t moved much from 0.09 for the past few months
Bought it and wham - went to 0.25
Sold after 8 hours and roberts your dads brother !!
Again hopefully proving I’m not trying to sell anything just sharing a comedy journey

On Monday morning I regularly get some special snacks from the ladies at the Computer department of a bank in Bangkok. They indeed hop over to the coast or the Isles for a weekend of food filled fun.

It's by a former chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The whole thing's worth a read, but here are a few interesting bits: And what made me think if Mr. Dunkies: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-01-27/danger-lurks-beneath-reddit-day-traders-gamestop-triumph

^^^, , reminds me of my hotel days in the ME, the serious gamblers removed the phones from their rooms and dumped them at reception, stopped them from phoning their bookies in the UK and having a punt out of boredom.
