I just got banned from the guinea pig Facebook page for telling some idiot to throw her guinea pig into the forest and get a stray cat. Apparently she can't afford 50 cents a week for hay. Social media isn't for everyone, moderators and posters alike can't handle simple truths these days and you'd be a bad man for uttering them....shame on you Oldie, have you no compassion, the owner will probably need therapy for years after that...... arf arf. Talking of simple truths and this may seem a little risque but it's an honest to God question that truly worries me and I need to know the answer: how do I refer to a person with the opposite color skin to white and still remain politically correct and not risk offending anyone, is it black person, a person of color, an Afro-American, a negro? Or do I have to ask a list of questions first to determine their heritage so as to be able to apply the correct label? And now they banned my alter ego for asking if they have any good guinea pig recipes. Softcocks will give themselves a heart attack.

Nothing wrong at all with a little sautéed guinea pig, sliced thin, a béarnaise sauce goes well, serve with green beans and voila.

BTW is it insulting to refer to someone as 'that human"?

Nothing wrong at all with a little sautéed guinea pig, sliced thin, a béarnaise sauce goes well, serve with green beans and voila. "Guinea pig (Cuy) is a delicacy that is very typically associated with typical Peruvian cuisine but it is also eaten throughout other countries of South America such as Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia. The Peruvian guinea pig dish, cuy, is mostly served on special occasions rather than as a meal eaten regularly but is readily available for adventurous tourists to try in restaurants or at different food stalls."

For some reason the Americans find eating meat protein offensive. I've just spent the last hour googling "breeding guinea pigs for food in Thailand".

I had a mate 30 years ago who became a millionaire exporting dead pidgeons to Hong Kong from Australia. We all laughed at him at the time.

Just checking that with all those guinea pigs no gerbils were harmed (none as far as I can tell), I stumbled over the "Cheesman's gerbil". Nothing to do with some Dan or R. Gere, but named after the British military officer, explorer and ornithologist Robert Ernest Cheesman.

Snow loses it's appeal when you've been driving home for 4 hours. 8 miles then you walk the last mile or so because a bus has skidded and the road is totally blocked. Boxing Day 2010 I was working a long day shift....stepped outside my London flat and promptly skidded on the ice and landed on my arse at 0530 in the morning. Freezing cold...snowing and dark as hell I vowed that day I'd never spend another winter in the UK. I didn't either....until this year it seems. Rare footage of smokes and his chums on their way to the coal face, hope he popped in and claimed his winter fuel allownace from herr sturgeon.

You may joke but the winter fuel allowance is a serious problem for many, I've just received mine and there's no way to give it back apart from removing yourself from being eligible to receive it ever again. My work around is that I donated an equivalent amount to a homeless charity, that takes care of the moral bit but doesn't do much as an excuse if DWP ever comes knocking.

I have £120 on my shitty electric meter...a consequence of my old man reading it as 8 rather than 80 when he was round sweeping the floor the other week.
The sixpence I pay him buys a couple of nice pints of mild bless 'im.

Recently my local 7-11 started stocking some weird beers. Some 'white' beers, some with cherries and even a chang coffee-ated or whatever it was called. Never afraid when duty calls I tried most and can report with confidence: DON'T BOTHER. Even Archa is better
