Careful or you'll be getting a visit from the Black Patch pikeys .
I bet he loves a slab of Shropshire!!
Incidentally, growing up in the Winson Green area of Birmingham (between the ages of 7 & 12) I used to play football (nearly) every Sunday at the now infamous Black Patch (which by then was renamed to be Black Patch Park).

I quite enjoyed sitting up top of that lookout tower thing drinking beer with friends and watching cars disappear into the tunnel that goes under the river or ocean or whatever it was, then magically reappearing minutes later. But that was more than 30 years ago.

I bet he loves a slab of Shropshire!! What shall we chisel on the slab as epithet, "Rest In Smoke"? "He was feeling a little Blue"

But that was more than 30 years ago. That was a concentration camp for people from Coventry.

The link, as far as I can see, makes no reference to his nationality. However, Wikipedia gives his nationality as "Pakistani", suggesting that he's not actually British.

Assuming he's a 'Lord' doesn't that imply he's British? Honestly, I don't know. However, spending a few minutes searching I haven't found anything that suggests that Lords have to be British (or, for that matter, even human). However, if the Royal family can be Greek/German/Russian/Danish/Swedish, why can't a Lord be Pakistani?

However, if the Royal family can be Greek/German/Russian/Danish/Swedish, why can't a Lord be Pakistani? Let's rephrase. Doesn't the fact that the guy was a member of parliament (The Lords that is) and retired from it (three days before they would throw him out of it), doesn't that imply he's British. I assume that bloody foreigners cannot be sitting members of lower house or the lords? "Lord Ahmed retires from Parliament days before expulsion" www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-54975932"British-Pakistani member of House of Lords, Nazeer Ahmed has reportedly been expelled from the House over ‘sexual misconduct’. The Lords Conduct Committee on Tuesday published the report which recommended the expulsion of Lord Nazeer Ahmed for “failing to act on his personal honour” over sexual assault and exploitation." nayadaur.tv/2020/11/british-pakistani-politician-lord-nazir-expelled-from-house-of-lords-over-sexual-misconduct/

It's not necessary to be British to be an MP, so yes, "bloody foreigners" can be MPs. Let's not forget that Boris was a Merkin. "People wishing to stand as an MP must be over 18 years of age, be a British citizen or citizen of a Commonwealth country or the Republic of Ireland" www.parliament.uk/about/mps-and-lords/members/electing-mps/candidates/And Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. thecommonwealth.org/member-countries

Assuming he's a 'Lord' doesn't that imply he's British? Maybe dual nationality? Any British, Irish and Commonwealth citizen who is a UK resident and taxpayer over the age of 21 is eligible to be nominated or can apply to become a Member, via the independent House of Lords Appointments Commission. A limited number of 26 Church of England archbishops and bishops sit in the House. Pakistan is a Commonwealth Country.

So a thread titled 'It's barely worth mentioning ...' has so far amassed 42 posts. Something in the thread must be worth mentioning then.
