Someone is just a bit jealous, stuck on windswept Isles with current max of 13C and some Westerly showers. At least here the water isn't freezingly cold and we still get to 32C in-between. Looking out of the windows now I can also seem more BKK skyline. Rain has cleared the air of dust it seems. Looking towards BangNa-Trad Samut Phrakan I might even see a tigger waving his brolly to instruct the natives.

13C is pleasant here....16C would be balmy....same as 22C in Bangkok would need a scarf.

Hopefully it will be a heavy rainy season with lots and lots of flooding I concur, the value of the wifes house will just keep rising and rising. First question people ask when buying up this way is, does it flood? Answer no. We were flood free back in the great floods of 2011. One thing about our village, you never see a for sale sign on the houses, the local broker has a waiting list of people wanting to buy, anyone selling just contacts him and he phones those wanting to buy.

The house these days sits mostly empty...but has huge storage...whilst the condo 5 mins from Asoke on foot lacks that it makes up for it in convenience. The condo past On Nut however is a puzzle unresolved...especially in the current climate.

Armageddon rains this afternoon in Chiang Mai, followed by rivers overflowing and streets flooded. We went up into the hills for lunch, almost couldn't get back because of flooding, serious stuff. We love the water but hate the fact the grass needs cutting every six hours, tedious.

That was a while back. Yes, it was drilled to 35 metres and long may it remain flooded. I dipped both our wells last week and the water table is only 3 metres below ground level, the pilings for our house are probably floating.

As long as the floor is still even and you don't get a 'wobbly' feeling walking from the road to your house you should be alright. As knowledge is bliss (according to some), maybe look up "quick clay"
