MY last water bill from 14/05 shows 10 units used for a grand total of 119.31 Baht. Two adults and a dog. Wife likes bottled water, dog pepsi and I prefer coffee or the occasional beer. Our bill is also about 120 baht but that's only 6 units, it seems you get cheaper water in Bangkok. Bit vague but slightly better quality is 1.2Mb.

By scanning in the QR code on your attachment and running it through my 'Reverse QR look-up' app, I was able to find out your full details. Now, are you going to confess who you really are or should I let everyone know who you are, Agent Metisdead?

You're lucky, it just started to rain and temps dropped a few degrees. Also I have that beer PLUS a day off today. Lalala lalala

No rain across the river in Samutprakarn today. In fact, they have just imposed a hose-pipe ban over here.

Right then, my electric came to 1040 which is more than I am used to but less than I expected. Water was 4 units totalling 80 baht. Well I am in a high end condo in Thonglor so 20 baht a unit is only to be expected. Less than my estimate, seeing as I enjoy frequent cold showers, a habit I acquired during covid.
(is high end the same as top floor.?)

Did I press quote or edit.? Losing it big time. Affirmative comment not required.

8,000.? Facks sake. You have a young family possibly.? Or 6 rooms rented out to Albanian refugees. But even so that is a figure not to be taken lightly. Even the quality farangs on here do not get near that. Not my business but your average must be above 4000.
Again,facks sake.

The metisdead bit slipped past quietly, no denials or squabbles.
A false trail or good detecting. I fear we will never know.
One other point, don't you fackers ever sleep. Make that two, looks like rain.

Even the quality farangs on here do not get near that. Not my business but your average must be above 4000. Again, facks sake. After we bought our house (a town house) the neighbors next door moved out and as we had a young family back then, we bought up the property and knocked the 2 houses into one four-bedroom house, so in reality, the 8,000 Baht bill was the 2 electric meters combined. Last month we had our oldest son visiting and he had the habit of leaving the air con on in his room all day, even if he went out somewhere. As both myself and the wife are at work all day, we were unaware of this until the bill came in. The youngest son doesn’t worry about the cost of electricity either and combined with the hot temperatures and that I do an awful load of baking on a 70-liter electric oven, our bills are usually high anyway. My boys don’t seem to understand that my wife’s monthly salary just about covers a bill of this size. Freck them, it’s their inheritance that they are pishing way. This month’s combined bill come to a more manageable 4,700.

At the end of the day, the blame for the high electric bill lies fully at the feet of er indoors. She might give the boys a rollicking for careless use of the air cons but IMHO, cure is better than prevention.
A couple of years age, during the pineapple on the pizza incident (AKA Pizzagate), I offered to the wife to have the boys ‘taken care of’ but my offer was strongly re-buffed. Apparently, I’m still Misconstruing Buddha’s teaching.
What followed was a flurry of urgent phone calls to some ‘acquaintances’ on the Thai/Cambodian border and the loss of a deposit.
Frecken religion ruins everything.

The FIL is currently minding the country estate up in the Nakhon, when not moaning to the misses that he has no-one to talk to he sits in air conditioned splendour with a higher bill at government rates than I pay here. To be fair he is a nice old lad. (older than me even.) I seem to have missed the pizzagate incident, not to worry next time I have a few spare moments (16 hours a day) I will look it up.

Just stumbled over this story on FaceBook. As if someone knew about CM's struggles CLIENT – How much will it cost to do this job? CONTRACTOR - 1.5million CLIENT – That’s too expensive for this job! CONTRACTOR – How much do you think it should cost? CLIENT – 800k max! It’s a simple job! CONTRACTOR – I can’t do the job for so little. CLIENT – People in your line of work wants to make a huge profit! CONTRACTOR – I’m sorry you feel this way. Why don’t you do the job? CLIENT – But, but, I don’t know how to do any of that. CONTRACTOR – For 300k, I can teach you everything you need to know to do the job. You can then use 800k to do the job, and you’re still saving 400k . Also, you will obtain all the knowledge and the experience for the next time you need to do this job. CLIENT – Deal! CONTRACTOR – Great! To start, you need to buy tools. You will need a chipping hammer, a nail gun, a laser, a drill, a mixer machine, Grinder, PPE, and some other things. CLIENT – But, I don’t have any of those tools and I can’t buy all that for just one job! CONTRACTOR – Ok. I can rent you my tools for another 150k. You’re still saving 250k. CLIENT – That’s cutting my savings, but I will rent your tools. CONTRACTOR – Perfect! I’ll be back Saturday and we can start. CLIENT – Wait! I can’t Saturday. I only have time today. CONTRACTOR – I’m sorry, I only teach others on Saturdays. I have to prioritize my time and my tools needs to be in other jobs I have during the week. CLIENT – Ok then. I will sacrifice my family’s plans on Saturday. CONTRACTOR – Right, me too! Oh, I forgot. If you’re going to do the job yourself, you need to buy the materials. There’s a high demand nowadays, so your best bet is to get a truck and be at the hardware store by 6am before other contractors get there. CLIENT – AT SIX IN THE MORNING? On Saturday? That’s too early for me. I don’t even have a truck! CONTRACTOR – I guess you’ll have to rent one. By the way, do you have some helpers to help you load the truck? CLIENT – You know what? I’ve been thinking. Probably it's better for you to do the job. It’s better to pay you to do the job right and not having to go through all that hassle. CONTRACTOR – Good thinking. Sign here and let me get to work. This is the truth. People are not just paying for a job, they are paying for knowledge, experience, tools, time, family sacrifices, and other things you bring to the table. They pay for their Convenience. Don’t let others dictate your worth. :Unknown Author :CTTO
