Apparently no spirits contain sugar. So swap the orange for water, might not be cheaper or prevent a hangover but won't contribute to diabetes. I realise that's not much use to you. Sorry about that. If only it were that simple. The body process alcohol as a priority because it sees alcohol as a toxin. That means it doesn't process food because it's busy working on the G&T's you've just inhaled and that leaves the carbs and sugars in that pizza you just ate, to run amok in your body and deposit fat in your gut and on your liver. So no, alcohol doesn't metabolise to sugar but it does more harm than if it did.

So essentially what you are saying is that my observation is correct, though you seem to add a rider - as far as it goes. Though if the consumption is under 15 units a week it may not be a problem. I only plagiarised it from somewhere else so there you go. I am sat at the bar having my first pint of Leo, so for the moment all is well.

Possibly, or possibly they have large bellies as fat accumulates there in people who drink too much.

Being in the "prove me wrong thread", unfortunately it's all BS. Oldie has had a hangover at least once a week. It's all experimental, trying to find the right brew to fit my health regime. I am more hangover prone than most and it occurred to me late in life that other people were right all along, there's only one answer. Twice last week I did the impossible. Went to a pub, had one pint and went home. BTW neither of the points above have any connection to the other. Brilliant...we have photos rott but nice try!
