A smiler yesterday in my local Tesco's We spend a lot of time on forums propagating certain Thai cliches about various things and what did i see yesterday in the above mentioned shop ? 2 scandi dirty old big fat farangs, (yes they stunk) in sandals with white socks, dirty old shorts and both had wife beaters on and prominent buddah medallions on their chests, giving everyone the evil eye and muttering things under their breath The only thing that was missing was neither had splayed toed young Isaan teeraks BG's with them, but one suspects any self respecting BG would require the pair of them to be hosed down with dettol and wire brushed before going anywhere near them Must be quite stimulating residing in locales with Farang circles.
I've counted my blessing in choosing areas that I've never had to have such exposure.
Actually i dont live in a local with farang circles this is what made it amusing, if one lives in Pattaya or certain areas of BKK i would think you would see clowns like this pair everyday but in 14 years of living where i am cant ever remember seeing any escapee's from Pattaya who played the fat farang cliche so well |

Must be quite stimulating residing in locales with Farang circles.
I've counted my blessing in choosing areas that I've never had to have such exposure.
Actually i dont live in a local with farang circles this is what made it amusing, if one lives in Pattaya or certain areas of BKK i would think you would see clowns like this pair everyday but in 14 years of living where i am cant ever remember seeing any escapee's from Pattaya who played the fat farang cliche so well One time I flew into Clark in the PI as it was easier for friends to get me there rather than risk metro Manila...... Other than me there was one other presentably dressed man on the flight....Couldn't believe what I was seeing + felt shamed to be possibly lumped in with them.....One did have a stunning PIBG with him..... Having never spent time around Nana or Pattaya I figured I was seeing skyward bar crawling in action.... What a stinking lot - Also on that flight was a guy 50-60's that had no carry on bag - had all his clothes and dirty laundry in clear plastic bags....... |

However, since you asked...
Somtam that is spicey but not as spicey as nitric acid poured down my
throat.
A smile from a pretty girl I don't know.
The local coffee shop that doubles as a pub; very friendly folks there
& good grub.
The end of Monsoon Season.
Lovely fresh veggies & shrooms.
A certain pack of friendly soi dogs I know very well.
Mr. Boonchai when he comes over with a bottle of local hootch and a grin
on his face.
