Well I thought I would like to get some input first so let's start at the top.
Joint contenders for No.1 spot are Au Bon Coin and Mata Hari.
These are better French/International restaurants than any place I've been to in BKK for a very long time.

For a brekkie, full Monty style I like The Butchers on soi BK.
The mrs likes Casa Pascal on second rd, personally I like the kebab guy that flogs 60 baht kebabs outside The Wonderful Beer Bar 2 about 6 in the evening.
The buffet place at the back of The Avenue is alright, sorry cant rememeber its name.

I don't remember the name, but I like the English breakfast at the bar on second road that is roughly opposite Royal Garden Plaza...perhaps a little after, heading north...it was 99 baht the last time I was there a year or so ago...that's how often I get out...just allowed out once a year for breakfast for an hour...with a 99 baht budget....

99 Baht? Why so expensive? I believe the 99 Baht breakfasts are 69 Baht on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays. Buy seven breakfasts on Monday and you're good for a week.

I stayed once in a Second Road hotel for 150 Baht....it was good training should I ever get invited to Wormwood Scrubs for a vacation.
Its put me off the cheap side of Pattaya.....Jomtien is a whole worse kind of animal....the beach there reminded me of Southend.
Horrific!
Edit: Ate in that German pizza place on beach road....it was cardboard food in a decent atmosphere.
