Due to significant popular demand and requests BM asked me to started a Bolton Wanderers thread. Contrary to general held beliefs there's more than one Bolton Wanderer's supporter in Thailand. OK so a lot of us have the same surname. But it will be nice for the kids to read when they grow up

Feel free to take the pisano. Football expectations have rarely been high in Bolton and fans are used to having a laugh at themselves ======================================================================= Francesco Pisano signs for BoltonDefender signs two-year contract after completing free transfer to Macron Stadium Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Francesco Pisano on a free transfer. Having spent his entire career in Serie A with Cagliari, the 29-year-old joins Wanderers on a two-year deal after leaving the Italian club at the end of his contract following their relegation to Serie B. A right-back by trade, the former Italy Under-21s international was a member of the Italian squad that reached the Under-21s European Championships semi-finals in 2009 alongside Mario Balotelli. Pisano goes straight into Neil Lennon’s first team for Saturday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest, subject to international clearance. Spare a thought for society's unfortunate at Christmas time... ===================================================================== Neil Lennon: Bolton Wanderers 'should avoid administration'Financially troubled Bolton Wanderers should avoid administration, says manager Neil Lennon. The Championship's bottom side are speaking to a number of parties about a takeover from owner Eddie Davies. They were issued with a winding-up petition last week by Revenue & Customs and players were not paid in November. However, Lennon confirmed his playing squad would be paid their wages by 29 December with help from the Professional Footballers' Association. "They are due to be paid on the 29th and from what I gather they will get a percentage of the money and the rest will be made up by the PFA," Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester. "The senior staff are in the same boat and it's not ideal over Christmas and New Year, but they will get paid." With chairman Phil Gartside currently ill, financial advisor Trevor Birch has been brought in to try to ease a takeover of Wanderers, who are £172.9m in debt. Former Bolton striker Dean Holdsworth and ex-Trotters midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos are leading two parties, but Lennon says there are others now interested. "There are new people coming in all the time," added the former Celtic boss. "Whether they are serious players or not, I don't know. "Trevor seemed pretty confident there would be no administration, which is obviously great news, and we can hopefully get something done next month in terms of a takeover. "It's been a difficult period for everyone involved with the club - I'm hoping we're not far away from something getting resolved in the next few weeks." www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35131407

Billionaire banker and oil magnate Roger Tamraz bidding to buy Bolton WanderersA BILLIONAIRE banker wants to buy Bolton Wanderers, it has been claimed. Roger Tamraz, who has a wide business portfolio including oil, airlines and property, says he wants to see Whites become a "community club" once again. The 75-year-old is involved in Netoil, a private investment company in the oil and gas industry, as well as being deputy chairman of Middle East Airlines. In a statement, a spokesman for Mr Tamraz said: "After months of work Mr Tamraz and his team have put together a bid to buy the football club from present owner Eddie Davies. "Building on the current assets, namely the Macron Stadium, Whites Hotel, Euxton training ground, the Lostock academy, and the Community Trust, Mr Tamraz wants to see Bolton Wanderers once again become a community club at the heart of the Bolton community. "If the bid is successful, fans will be involved as never before, as Mr Tamraz seeks to rebuild the image of the club." Bolton Wanderers have declined to comment on Mr Tamraz's bid. Negotiations are believed to be continuing between the club and Sports Shield, the consortium led by former Wanderers striker Dean Holdsworth. The newly established Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust also wants to buy the club. Wanderers have been given until February 22 to find a rescue scheme by the High Court after a winding up order over a £2.2million tax bill. Mr Tamraz lives in France and Dubai. He was born in the Egyptian capital Cairo to Lebanese parents. Tony Kounnis, Mr Tamraz's London based representative in the UK, said the businessman had ambitious plans for the club if his bid was successful. He said: "There's still a bit of due diligence to go through. Sports Shield are a lot further along than us but I am hoping the club doesn't panic. "There is no need to panic, they have got until February 22, which gives us enough time to complete. "There are a number of interested parties but we don't feel anybody is as strong as Mr Tamraz." Mr Kounnis said the possible Wanderers deal would mark Mr Tamraz's entrance into the UK, as he is already well known in the US and the Middle East. He has plans to expand his liquid natural gas business into the UK. Mr Kounnis said: "It's not just Bolton. Bolton is one thing but this would act as Mr Tamraz's entrance into the UK. "We plan a lot of projects over the next five to 10 years which will create jobs and investment, residential and commercial developments. "We want to build on the assets which Eddie Davies has left." Share article Mr Kounnis added: "Mr Tamraz has got a successful history and we will bring investment into the club. We will do it carefully and properly and make sure we leave a legacy. "Bolton Wanderers lies on good assets, good infrastructure and a good stadium, which we want to build upon." www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14240438.UPDATED__Billionaire_banker_and_oil_magnate__bidding_to_buy_Bolton_Wanderers_/?ref=fbshr
