I can recall the delights of Kloster many a moon back at a then whopping 60 baht a bottle circa 1992 ish. In those days I frequented a little bar called ''The Jungle Garden'' in Pattarkarn , served all sorts of strange exotic jungle foods too. Snake squirrel assorted rodents and reptiles and things I ate presuming they had once been alive. The cook or chef was of Chinese extraction always had a smile on his face somewhat reminiscent of Kenneth Williams as I recall.I christened him Doctor Death as he took great delight in butchering his raw material ingredients etc in full view of we customers as he smiled away happily while doing so. I often wondered what I may have eaten there in times past, never mind it was dead, I hope, it was cooked and I ate it, I survived and the world carried on spinning round.  |

Heineken if we are talking beers brewed in Thailand. However, I usually opt for a Japanese beer. My local beer lady keeps Asahi in the freezer for that icy temp. Goes well with a fiery Penang Curry

Have you tried that Kirin beer Seb? Japanese but also made in a Singapore brewery not sure if it's also brewed in Thailand.

Have you tried that Kirin beer Seb? Japanese but also made in a Singapore brewery not sure if it's also brewed in Thailand. Yeah, my uni in London had it on tap for 2 quid a pint. You can get it in Max Value here and it's pretty cheap. Love the stuff. |

I have noticed Kirin beer here time or two <Bunny boiler> and bought it on sight, as you say a nice beer too. I used to sup the odd glass or two of Kirin in Japan in times past.

Kirin is not bad at all, and they not only make beer, I am partial to their iced red tea.

I have to put my hands up and say, I drink the Leo with loads of lime, at home on the veranda or in the yard, and even at my beer spot in Det Udom, the Fat Lady Bar. If the taste has been frozen out of it I can drink a short kneck bottle.
