An improvement would be to stop the mangotopics idiot drowning out the threads with his boring news. If I wanted news I'd be on www.thaivisa.com/forum/ Why not just start a thread with links to all the news websites everyone and his uncle can visit if they like?

A limit should be set, freakdoor was drowned out by some guy also posting countless news threads before they put the ignore function on the news section. Overkill. Interesting news is ok but we all have different tastes and yes we can all read feeds.

And what should the limit be? I can only see 5 news topics started by mangotopics yesterday and today. One each for each news sub forum.
I can also MT feeding topics into previously slow sub-forums. I'd like to see MT hammering the content on the Thai sub forums such as what's on in Thailand and the regional subs. The regional forums were previously moribund, which is a joke. I'll start compaining if MT wrecks the pubs - otherwise varied content being pushed should be welcomed.

Well if it's a mod job you're after, all the best.
I'm just stating what I've seen. We all have different tastes. It's a good idea but having twenty bloody news things I can read from my mobile would annoy me. So far ok.

I don't want a mods job.
There's been an overeaction to MT. Just the same way there was an overreaction to someone moaning about the pub forums. As far as I can see the forum has increased by precisely one sub in the last week. Three targeted news subs replacing two pubs. Not exactly overkill is it?
And the bottom line now is that news goes in news and chat goes into the pubs. That should make it clearer to those that struggled before.

Have to say I quite like the new news forum and it's starting to generate a bit of banter, even though a small part of the forum. Myself I don't have news feeds so enjoy a quick browse. On the subject of limits I think the maximum number of fruitcakes on the mango is currently set at 212. Exactly the same as the number of members

We can have a STFU ( Share That Food Up ) or a WTF ( Where's the Food) subforums too. I'd like to see more in there. Sad blether didn't get that Thai lady to post more and cc is too busy. Understandable. It's all good fletch, just a deluge of news is over the top. So far it's a nice balance. Can't resist progress.
