I was thinking - always a dangerous thing - that it would be an idea to start travel-tip type topics in the regional sub forums. The thinkingology is that the forums are quiet - and it would be a boon to any member or guest to see plenty of travel content within said areas. So - go ahead? or shut up blether? Just askin'

Just askin' The value of this forum is that it is one where members know each other or can. People are the core of this forum as it is not looking for clickbait to get adds. New members are always welcome and many of those that come have stayed to be part of this forum. Threads like youdiscuss do not really help that type of member very much. They probably anoy some more as they keep filling the recent threads list with stuff which many will just scroll through to find the posts of people. Leave that to to the click bait bys. Forums are quiet now unless there is real conversation just how it should be.

Enough is enough.
Remember when one searches on the net for information. It's a veritable avalanche and we tend to use the first page only and sometimes the second.
Too much information is as bad as too little.
Bloatware we know, but we do not need to cultivate our own home grown forum bloat.

Sort of like the difference between a MAKRO cash and carry and a bespoke store.

Too many fora is a problem. Posters are unlikely to post more frequently just because there are more fora. That means the average frequency of posting in an individual forum will go down - and it's pretty low now as it is.
Furthermore, readers aren't going to appreciate having to search through more fora to find something of interest to read.
Other sites have regional fora, but the volume of posts is typically low.

Anyway - after much consideration I've decided to ignore the protests. And before Me collapses into a fit of righteous indignation, I have a cunning compromise.
I"m going to start a travel mega=thread for each region, just one topic each. That way if anyone is looking for info they can go direct to that thread.
At the risk of being cheeky - I fail to see how pushing Thai related content onto Thai sub forums on a Thai-centric website can be described as bloatware. Content such as this should be welcome.
