^^^ Excellent photos there Big Man, we take for granted what lies in our backyard, not a plastic bag in sight. Will be getting booked up for a Lakes tour etc this summer, mrs cant wait. I'm in a beautiful alpine chalet hotel, with free entry to the recreation centre behind me, and would you believe, free public transport. "Ah, you must not pay," said the bus driver to me. "Go into the the rec centre, you will get a free pass for the bus and many other places." That pass includes entry to museums, etc - free. "Don't bother registering," said the chalet owner "I'll see you next week." I had to go looking for him to pay my bill. "I'm so sorry, my English is not good," so said everybody. "Don't worry, I can understand German 90%, speak to me in German, I'll understand." The people go out of their way to be helpful. Anyway, I'm in a cracking room, in the Kitbuhel area but not in Kitbuhel - 40m2, separate dining and kitchen area, all mod cons. £25.10 a night. In Austria. Unbelievable. I know your going to have an outstanding time at the Lake District - our continent and our country is stunning, I'm pleased I came here.

Blether, I was looking on the internet, these coach tours are as cheap as chips. Breakfast in the morning, days coach tour, evening meal and accomodation provided. Works out at 80 quid or 4,000 baht per day, thats for two people, sure cheaper than hiring a car, filling it up and arranging my own accomodation. That 5 day Highland distillery tour looks appetising. Lake District yep looking forward to it, weather permitting. We take for granted what we have in our own back yard, I was too busy whizzing along the motorways to ever visit these places.

^^ Yup - I try to get out and about more in Scotland these days, and I've not been to The Lakes or London for ages - I can see an England trip coming up. Today at the Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg, the rain was torrential so lucky to get a photo at all ...... Also today at Dom zu Salzburg, or Salzburg Cathedral as we would call it - at least it wasn't raining inside -

This one isn't recent but it's maybe worth a look - the rear view of The White Temple in Chiang Rai. Most photos are taken at the front of the temple. a well known image, and people don't walk round the back. If you ever go, check out the whole complex and don't miss out on views like this -

This is my new friend. He reminds me a lot of someone I know. We chatted for a while and I asked him what he liked most in this world, his reply? Grass. Well we have something in common then. I asked if he had any hobbies and he said that if I had to eat 150kg of grass every day, I wouldn't have time for much else! I added that it was most unusual to meet a talking buffalo, and he told me to keep it under my hat, otherwise he'll end up in a zoo for the rest of his life. I told him to relax, his secret is safe with me!!!
