^^ Some members, that I won't name, have orphan accounts. Not by malice, more by accident -
The other place has a bad habit of boasting about their hundreds of thousands of members - most of which are digitally dead or duplicate members. Anyone knows that dealing with the digitally dead is a waste of time and effort. You are always far better concentrating on the core of active members and wiping burning the deadwood.

Questions for the boffins, if we delete them, does that also delete their posts?
Could harm the reading of a thread.

Blether why waste time on this? Reminds me of a story, and you should post up more of your own. A monkey was crossing a train line, he wasn't fast enough and lost an inch off his tail when the train ran over it. He went back to have a look for his missing inches, the oncoming train hit his head, killing him instantly. The moral of this story is, don't lose your head looking for a piece of tail.

Let em lurk then explode on another forum if one of us dares to mention the following : ducks, Alsatians, Prego, steaks, instant gravy, gerbils, hamsters, badgers, pikeys, mulling, Richard Gere etc... It's bloody funny to watch the toys fly out of the prams!

If AF get anymore paranoid they will need to take a restraining order against their own shadows. If people don't want to post then I guess that's there thing. What we lack for quantity we more than make up for in quality.

I voted Yes, just in case you are wondering It appears ATM, on this particular moment in time 3.15pm Thai time, you are the lone voice advocating change.

Such as? Are you buttering up Arrow for a modship blether? I assure you nothing much happens in the staffroom, except for that fiasco when Tony and smokie had that show and shado got upset, there were dancers involved I hear. There is no one more unsuited to modship than me. My Inner Evil Bastid would take over, and chaos would reign. However, if you have a video of said dancing incident, I'd like to see it. TB ... in just 1 second, I can think of a 1,000 members, across the various Forums, less suited to Modship then your goodself. Though, the Big Yellow Fruit, ATM, seems to have little to Mod about. BTW, maybe a little known fact, but the word 'Mod' in Thai means 'Ant'. Commonly used nickname.

The early posters are part of the history...they are what built this forum. Who could delete monty neverddie, bendovver and all the originals who helped develop this forum's directions. Note I am saying directions as you nevr get to the place you are expecting in a thread.

I voted Yes, just in case you are wondering It appears ATM, on this particular moment in time 3.15pm Thai time, you are the lone voice advocating change. Aye but - I'm possibly one of the few on here that know digital marketing works. Dead data can cause major problems later. And there's no point in keeping the "details," of hundreds, if not thousands, and in the case of Friends Reunited, 10 million members years past their useful date. But there is another reason for pruning the forum. A more human reason - lets take Olphato as a good example. If you make a habit of reviewing your active membership, you'll pick up on people who have disappeared off the radar. While people retain the right to post where they want, and when they want, sometimes an email inquiring after them can make a difference. I can think of two or three other members who have disappeared that "deserve," a "how are you?" email. Whilst it's not for us to pry into people's private lives, we are at heart a community - and when you start ignoring community members that have been active, the community starts to slip. So where is Olphato? how is he? is he fine and well? or struggling? Sometimes a metaphorical phone call can make a difference to someone - especially when so many people live secluded/remote lives here.

All these indivuduals chose to go elsewhere, and a couple did so with malice. They have left the forum, and at least two of those will never be welcomed back - delete them. Take pride in the forum having a core membership which is up to date.
