Leo set of three - 179 CM - 220 here.
Shocking.

Depending on one's lifestyle - comparatives can't really be made.

Leo and Chang is cheap, as far as toilet cleaning products go. Worst tasting and easily the worst hangover inducing poor excuses for cat's p**s on this planet.
And that's me being kind to them.

I don't like any Thai made beers for various reasons - Singha tastes like p**s, leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. Leo tastes like tasteless p**s and gives me a headache while I am drinking it, does not even wait til the next morning. Chang does not taste too bad and has won quite a few medals over the years but has a bad rep for the hangovers it creates. I have heard many people over the years complain about their Chang hangs. There is a reason for this, Chang beer makers use chemicals that were banned in Europe (as beer additives) 25 or more years ago. A Swiss brewer visited Thailand some years ago and tasted Chang for the first time and thought it tasted a bit odd. (he was married to my friend's sister-in-law) When he got back to Switzerland he looked up Chang beer on the data base and looked into the ingredients. He immediately sent my friend an email - "DO NOT DRINK CHANG BEER ! IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRINK !" He was amazed they were allowed to use these chemicals that were deemed so dangerous in Europe so many years ago. I don't drink as much as I used to these days, something to do with health scares and having a 2 yo son have changed my social life. But when I do have a beer I have Corona or San Miguel. I like the taste of both and they don't seem to affect me too much the next morning. Also I have a liking for English beer, mainly the ales, and treat myself to them whenever I come across them. I don't look at the price when I drink beer, if I see something I like I drink it. *If any of you guys do suffer from hangovers let me know and I will let you in on a little secret, a very cheap and effective hangover cure that I have proven many times.*

^^^^ there is a lot of truth in what you say ref the beers sold here.
I stick to Leo when drinking with the Somchais, they all drink it and its available all over.
If going into town, yes it will be English style ales.
I remember years ago sitting with the Somchais, the first thing they did was look at the bottle to see where the beer was brewed, there was a diiference in taste in the same beer depending on where it was brewed.
I remember drinking Singha in Hat Yai years ago, it tasted like klong water.
Maybe its just the passing of time or a bad memory, but I have fond memories of Amarit.

I prefer Tiger of the easily available brews, (nice on draft at the Crossbar). A new discovery. also easy to find , some bigger Big Cs. Phuket import . Why import? Can anyone explain. A strange brew, but I enjoy a can.

How the other half live Smokes, it aint all prawn sannies, cocktails and jacuzzis. Bloody hilarious watching the Somchais knocking shyt out of each other. Never mind its only about 60 baht in a taxi home, not pestered by ladyboy pickpockets or rip off taxi drivers, no Indians trying to flog me a suit, no Somchais trying to flog me a massage (Star Massage is just down the soi), no one trying to flog me a 3 foot high Zippo lighter, dodgy viagra, . Its Bkk just not as the farang mugs know it.
