The other week i was standing on the platform and the door opened. The first passenger to squeeze off coughed direct into my face.
On board, i squeezed in and my nose was sitting flush under the steamy armpits of a tall Yank whose deodorant protection has lapsed.
The same American then sneezed 3 times, mucus spray fanning out across my head and face. I could taste his snot on my lips.
i got off next stop and waited for the next train

Think you made a good choice, sounds vile.
That's why I travel around in my helicopter, looking down on the masses.

Is was freezing in the BTS today and all those people soaking wet will be off work for a couple of days.
I make my way to a corner and try not to hold anything.

Funny isn't it why people are better behaved on buses than subways or skytrains.

Any specific reason though?
Agree that behaviour on sky train and subway is often a lot to be desired.

Maybe on the buses the poor masses are so hot and cramped they are barely surviving I've thought about it and I'm not an expert of the human psyche like Dr. Will but it may have something to do with the seating arrangement. Seats on subways and skytrains usually face each other buses and real trains the seats are facing forwards or backwards. Maybe making people look at each other creates hostility.

Thank you for allowing myself to provide some education on the human psyche. i have been studying the urban city dweller and have started to identify certain personality traits in the frequent BTS and Skytrain traveller. Many are still affected by the rejection of their Mother not allowngthem to feed from the bosom past the age of two, I recommend that breastfeeding continus to the age of 10. This anger is now projected through aggression, pushing, wearing a back pack, and entering the train before people are able to exit. There appears to some sexual markers here which I should identify in the. Coming year. good Evening to you all

At many times the BTS (and probably the MRT as well) are FULL. I now know what those sardines in a can would feel if they could still feel something. Of course FULL means those sitting cannot see the opposite site. At times they may even have a problem getting out at the right station. I'm 178cm (that's about 5f11inch I think), mostly tall enough to have an 'overview' unless there some real tall foreigners around. Mind you, there even tall, mostly in their teens or twenties, Thai. I do feel sorry for those small Thai ladies who with barely 164cm or so must be feeling awfull and awkward at times. PS I know, being Dutch I should be taller. My three younger brothers look down on me for this, literally.

Stay away from public transport if you can it's a breeding ground for germs and hostility. Don't fly economy either.
