When I visit Pattaya its usually for the weekend and I seek two things.
A hotel with great pool and a jacuzzi...and good live music.
Suggestions please for both.

Define, good live music.
For me, Wonderful beer bar 1&2, The Meeting Place, We Are The World, beers at prices that wont break the bank.
What they lack in professionalism is more than made up for in attitude and atmosphere, personally I cant stand those Fillipno bands, for the simple reason its the same old dross and they can neither sing nor play Lunk Thung/Mor Lam music.

What is the dark side ? Spent a few days there in the latest 80's and half a day last year.
Is it geographic or "the street"

Pattaya has everything available from good dining and supermarkets and the tranquility of the outlying areas and plenty of golf and other activities such as motorcycle and car racing, horse riding, polo, flying it's all in Pattaya. |

Music? Rock music?
Get yersen down to soi 8 area of Beach road.
Cloud 9 (behind We Are The World bar that is on Beach road). Maybe not as cheap as the World bar, but the music is better.
Just along from the World bar is the Poker bar. Music is okay until 11 p.m. then they seem to start singing Thai music for a while. It reverts back to better music later.
Corner bar also nearby is not too bad but more expensive.
Up Soi 8 is one of the Rolling Live ? bars. 100 Baht a bottle though last I went.
As mentioned earlier Wonderful bars on 2nd road are quite cheap too.
